The best way in for anyone coming from North or South is to get off the M6 at junction 7. Head towards Walsall for about 2 miles. You will come to a strange little double roundabout thingy with a hotel on the left ( where Soul Underground used to be), carry on straight over the roundabout thing, (2nd exit), up the hill towards Walsall. At the top of the hill there is another roundabout, go straight over that (2nd exit) and go down the hill. You will come to another small roundabout, go across that and the Royal Hotel is just there on your right. There is a great chip shop just opposite!! Lidl is just past the chip shop on your left. And is usually about 80-85% 60's on a good night, with some Crossover. The odd 70's or R'n'B track, very occasionally. The tempo, whilst not 100mph is dancefloor oriented with plenty of good mid-uptempo tracks, not armchair stuff. With the emphasis on the dancefloor as regards tempo, so not 30 people sitting down talking about records. So if it's dancing you're here for should suit you. Not usually modern, but for this one probably more 70's spread out over the evening, than there would otherwise be. But still a majority of 60's stuff. Saturday will probably be a bit different from our usual nights. The sort of things you'd hear at Lifeline and the like, ranging from current big tunes, quality oldies, mixed in with semi-knowns and unknowns. We do like dj's to pull out stuff they'd not normally play elsewhere. Definately not the top 500, or mediocre shit you'd get at normal soul nights. The crowd are up for it enthusiastic, and knowledgeable and want to hear something different. With travellers from all over the UK. So if that fits your bag, see you there. Martyn Link to comment

Thanks to the promoters of Loughborough and to Dave Rimmer for sorting it out. Might also be something to do with this cheeky mare pming Robin and asking...
