Recommended Posts

Due to The Craythorne being booked on the Friday the next Select Soul night is on Saturday 11th July. Since we started this event in May 2008 it's gone from strength to strength and with this one being on the Saturday it should make it available to even more people. If you're into the sort of music that get's played at The Sunflower Lounge, United Sound of Soul, The Attic or Morley Carr then this could be well worth you visiting us.

Sadly when putting on an event like Select Soul for £3 admission we shan't be providing free beer :sleep3:

As you'll see from Maks avatar he is a Nottingham Forest fan so lives in a world full of fantasy and where disappointment is a regular companion !! :tumbleweed3:

However we are always being told that £3 is a bargain for what you do get :wicked:

And if you make your way over to the USOS, i'll buy you a pint whether you like it or not? Although with Dudley on this Friday, and Burton on the 11th should be a good taster to get you in the mood, as all three nights are ploughing the same furrow these days for QUALITY SOUL!

The nearest budget hotel to The Craythorne is the Etap at the junction of the A38 and the A50 and is about 4 miles from the venue. The cost for a room is £32 per room per night.

Just looked on the website and it say's the hotel is full so phoned them and they say it's a fault with the website and they have plenty of rooms left. Best thing is to phone the Hotel direct on 01283 701816.

We've sorted the DJ's out for the rest of the year and it should give people an idea of what we are about:

Saturday 11th July with Guests John Weston and Woody

Friday 18th September with Guests Simon Hunt and Martyn Bradley

Friday 13th November with Guests Kitch and Dean Anderson

Quality all the way and I'm well pleased.

So am i! No seriously, the venues i'm attending at the moment have renewed my enthusiasm for this scene. You have to give credit to promoters of the Attic, Disciples of Soul, Lifeline, Burton, and those further afield that are keeping the flag flying.

Folks, Ya won't be disappointed. We are aiming at the sounds and some more for those who remember the early Bretby and Albrighton days; fantastic. Can't wait. Oh, and just a reminder for John.. "Don't get too pissed when your driving the Decks..We have a couple of NEW Technics"whistling
