Soulvation Catacombs Dj's Get Together @ Great Wyrley

Recommended Posts

Thanks to everyone for their support last night. It was brilliant.

It was our very first event at Great Wyrley Football Club, and despite being in the middle of the summer and with so many venues suffering attendance wise we had a fantastic turnout and a great night.

Catacombs Temple Street memories all the way from DJ's who played at the greatest little Soul club in the land - superb to hear so many of the old classics one more time. Steve Powell loves "I Feel An Urge Coming In" doesn't he?

Thanks to Max, Bill and Mike Hollis on the decks, to Gail for taking the trouble to start work on the door even though she had to go a party afterwards,to Pud for installing a top notch sound system, but most of all to the crowd for making the effort to turnout .."Thumb A Ride" was for everyone who used to attend The Railway Tavern in Brownhills all those years ago on a Friday before going to The Cats on a Saturday!Everyone loved Great Wyrley as a venue, the management were very happy and as at recent nights at Lea Hall,,there were nice people in attendance from all over, top marks to Sue and her pal for travelling upall the way from Surrey just on the strength of the Soul Source postings!

We will definitiely be doing more Soulvation events at Great Wyrley in the future, as well as at Lea Hall.

Last month's Lea Hall was one of the best ever so to have 2 such good nights at different venues is superb, as Nige Brown says "Soulvation

- onwards and upwards".

Just to remind everyone the proposed event at Lea Hall on Friday July 17 with Steve Calloway has been cancelled.

Next Lea Hall is Saturday August 8, we're in the downstairs room which has got an outside patio so to make it extra special it runs from 6pm till 1am with free Bar-B-Q from 6pm till 9pm. Music Across The Board.

Congratulations Neil on what for me and Kath was the ultimate northern soul event. With all of the places that we've been to in the last 12 months non have surpassed this, in depth and quality. Just couldn't resist the urge to dance all night, although the aches and pains are hitting home right now.

As for Max, you nearly killed us off with about half an hour to go thumbup.gif , but managed to rally round to that magical final record of Walter Jackson.

Thanks to all the Cat's DJ's and all in the organisation that made the event happen. We really appreciate it.
