Lovely to see Jean and Geoff as always and great to see Wendy who I haven't seen for ages!!! I think I freaked them both out as I was neither p--sed or in talking bollocks mode!!! Aragorn
Had ANOTHER excellant nite out at Morley Carr. Its such a nice, friendly venue and the sounds have ALWAYS been varied, unpredictable and a pleasure to hear at this jolly ?lickle? venue. We were in good company throughout the nite and much fanx to our dear matey,John Horsler, for putting us up for the nite, also. The most priceless bit of the nite, for me,was when me two besty matey's,LYNN BIRD and LESLEY PELL,decided to ?POLEDANCE? on the rail that runs along front of the bar,It were near end of the nite and they were a tad inebriated, but they just cracked me up watching pair of em,specially when Mrs Bird took it a step further and was "near pornographic"with her antics on the bar rail, the little tinker.I apologised to Rosemary, but she took it all in good fun, bless her.Have booked me weekend off work for the next one in October, and it is now a regular addition on our calendar.Well done and Thank you to all who put this grand soul nite together. spot
Time to jump on this Bullet train of underplayed & Rare Soul Night's because this place is speedily becoming the place to be & be seen, even though it's smack in the middle of Chemical Alley but not the Iraqi one however if it ever blows we'll be the new generation of DC comic Super Heroes & thats even scarier . First port of call is to the Valley of the Doll's to pick up the Dynamic Duo, Horace & Doris aka Col & Shirl, then it's up t'hill to Corley Marr as Gail keeps calling it & it's a right warm welcome from Paul "T-Shirt for every ocassion" Harris & the warmest smile this side of the Pennines from the still blooming bride & all round lovely person Rosemary . Entry gained into the dark inner sanctum of Soul & to the bar where the staff almost smile, not quite but almost . We settle down in Shirl's dance corner with Cog & Jan,Simon & Wendy,Big Paul, Kev H & Steve L, Martyn & Lynne,Chris & Sue,Kev & Pauline,Willie & Sarah also Andy & Di put in an appearance but had to leave early as Andy is keeping the enemy from the door, so to speak. Boy was it hot , infact hotter than the crack in Krakatoa & no relief as the windows were unopenable due to undesirable type thieving toe-rags gaining entry to have a jolly old time,oh what a jape.Eventually after much pleading & beggar plus a little grovelling from Paul the bag door was opened (Well you wouldn't want your back doors kicking in, would you?? ) with a total ban on smoking out there, don't ask why cause we havn't a clue, it's a power thing I think ?? The room was rammed, fullest I think I've seen it but I spent most of the night at the cool corner trying not to overheat I did however not miss much & thoroughly enjoyed the tunes, Ezzie the trainee did a lovely spot even though we caught just half of it, I missed two thirds of Kev's due to heat exhaustion & lost of essential minerals & bodily fluid but I rallied for Kitch whos as always was excellent value for money but this weeks winner of Spot the Ball is Col Wood who's set was fandabidozi, no not because he's a very good mate or our travelling compadre but because it bleeding well was,top marks fella & the rest of you . We left just before the final whistle with me sneaking off into the hazy moonlight(Think it was Chlorine vapour) to the car to put aircon on for our Droylsden daytrip, I get all emotional really but I can't tell you that can I .Paul you've got a rough Diamond there that's polishing up very nicely & wether you like it or not we'll be back. Take care,be safe & remember,"Like a rubber ball,I'll come bouncing back to you,Like a rubber ball,I'll come bouncing back to you, Bouncy,Bouncy,Bouncy,Bouncy", Spot. Link to comment
