If not, see below...... Northern Soul in Hertfordshire goes from strength to strength. Hemel football club has a large maple dance floor, stage for the DJ's (to keep us out of the way of the dancers), seating area and large bar. This is a soul night in Hertfordshire with the emphasis on dancers . The music policy is to keep the floor filled with classic up tempo soul. We do seem to clash dates quite a bit with 100 Club and I know that some have come to ours as a warm up, then headed south to the big smoke for the night!!! Just a thought.... Guest Dr Pickles Posted September 4, 2009 Share Posted September 4, 2009 For those that have asked: Directions to Sounds of Soul are: From The magic Roundabout in Hemel Town centre, go up the dual carriageway towards the M1, go over two roundabouts and take the second left turn (Longlands), go down about (300 yards) take the second right turn into Vauxhall Road, at the roundabout turn left into the Football Club. OR From the M1 motorway exit at Junction 8 and head for the Town Centre, go over two roundabouts and after 300 yards take the right hand filter to cross the dual carriageway, into Leverstock Green Road, go down about 400 yards to two mini roundabouts, at them turn left into Vauxhall Road, at the next roundabout turn right into the Football Club. Although my poor knees will ache, I've just finished laying my parquet flooring in the extention. 26ft. by 12ft. To marry up with the originals, I used reclaimed blocks from neighbours, with pitch backing---- So to restick them to the new floor I used,,, GRIPFILL. Bl**dy Hell, I had to go to bed at 8o/c every night I was as high as a kite, It was nearly as good as my Specialbrew. I used 27 tubes !!!!!!! Then I planed it, sanded it, 3 coats of primer, and 3 coats of varnish. "Did you have a good holiday, Derek?" "What holiday?" On a more serious note: (if possible with me) Yes, we are looking forward to to-morrow at Hemel. August was a very lean month for events, We only went to one and that was the dayer at Wellingborough.
