Topics / Enchanted Five - Try A Little Love

Hi

Noticed a little bit of interest in the Topics - Try A Little Love - Heavy Duty.

The Topics last ebay outing with this went to $76 with 16 bidders, the only copy on Ebay is at £92 (!) and there's a couple available on GEMM for a more reasonable £25. Not earth shattering I know, but just an interested anorak

So 2 questions for you people in the know:

1. Is this the same cut/band as the Enchanted 5 - Try A Little Love - CVS?

2. Is the Topics track picking up any interest anywhere you know of?

Thanks in advance... :D

They sound very similar, but not the same. According to the Vocal Groups book, the Enchated Five dates from 1970, and the Topics 1972. One of the co-writers, Bruce Clark, is given as a member of the Enchanted Five - he also produced the Topics' version. The Enchanted Five version shows S Horton as producer, and gives him a co-writer credit which the Topics doesn't.

Somehow, I don't think that makes things any clearer!

It's 100% not the same group but it is the same cut, due to weird production deals, etc. reusing material. The topics are from new jersey and the enchanted five are from ohio.

Thanks Boba,

That clears up any confusion regarding the cut and the band.

Anybody know if this is one to watch given the recent blip in demand?

Cheers...

i picked up a topics 2 weeks ago in new york for 10 dollars

That's what I mean soulman. I paid about $15 for my Topics and $12 for the Enhanted 5. Seems something's in the air with this one if it's selling at $76 and had 16 bidders. Maybe a buy now ?? Or Maybe not

Cheers..
