Rob Wigley Posted October 19, 2009 Share Posted October 19, 2009 We had a great time again and thanks to all who wished Karen a happy birthday, bought pressies and drinks. Great to see so many of the Bridlington faithful there as well. Good news is a session from The Horse and Groom will be featured in our new 5th room at Brid as well at "Something new to do 4" more details with the flyer launch later in the month. The thing about these sessions its great to be able to talk and relax and have the craic in a good IRISH BAR (2nd time Joe) with fantastic music being played. There's room to dance "down the front" for those who are drawn to the floor-it was always busy down there through out the day by the way-all the DJs were excellent-no big egos on show-just great music. The food is excellent and the crowd ebbs and flows all day- we had around 5 hours in there this time and were amoungst the last to leave. Nice to see Sid & Marilyn Hopper, Dave Davison, Chris "Porn star" Walker, Debs & Tom Cooper, Mr & Mrs Wade, June & Tony, Alex Denham, The Moffats,Debs & Howard, young Neil, Sean, all the DJs and crew-the little guy in the sailor hat ! Al Taylor and jacki etc etc etc-- Well worth a visit and musically just superb-like Forrest Gump said "The Horse and Groom is just like a box of chocolates--you never know what you are going to get next !! see you there Rob & Karen Link to comment

Guest 2648 W Grand Boulevard Posted October 28, 2009 Share Posted October 28, 2009 An excellent way to spend a Sunday afternoon, including the comfy chair Some great tunes played and as always its an education because of the wide variety of soul thats played there. The CD has some excellent tracks with some great memories of the H&G. However, it looks like it may be the last one for a while as the house move is sorted but one advantage of free rail travel is that I just might make a surprise appearance at somepoint in the future.
