Northern Soul Uk
Well, it's a well known fact that Pontefract, West Yorkshire, was one of the biggest towns in the UK for followers of northern Soul in the 70s, and last night you could see why. The music, the atmosphere and the crowd were all outstanding. The night kicked off with Tony & Paul making their DJing debut, and a fine job they did too. Then it was my turn starting my classics set off with the amazing Ramsey Lewis - Wade in the water, and ending off with the Brilliant Ila Vann - You made me this way. After me and ending the proceedings came 'Gibbo' one of the organisers who played an excellent predominantly Motown set keeping the customers satisfied till the end. Altogether another successful night at the 'POW' Big shout out to 'Jointy' who makes these nights possible and to all the folks that support the cause. Next event December 4th.
