Pat Brady & John Parker Confirmed As Our 1St Guests

Recommended Posts

Fantastic news!

Pat Brady and John Parker are now confirmed as the guest DJ's at the inaugural Northern Line Soul Night on January 23rd 2010.

We're thrilled to have the support of some of the UK's top DJ's / collectors on our first night and are chuffed to bits (and humbled) by the messages of support we've received so far.

We've just completed a sound check and the set up sounds sweet; so we hope that musically and acoustically you're in for a treat.

There's a great 'buzz' about The Northern Line already and we're still 2 months away from our first event in January 2010.

For those reading about The Northern Line for the first time, the background to the event is below.

After hosting a series of successful events in the past, DJ's Chris Penn, Moz Arnold and John Griffiths have teamed up to run a new Soul Night in what is arguably one of the best venues in the North West to never have hosted a regular Soul Night before; The Alford Hall on Manchester Road in Warrington.

After an exhaustive search for suitable venues Moz identified The Alford Hall. Once we found that the quality of the dancefloor (traditional maple) and the welcoming attitude of the manager matched our first impressions of the hall itself we were hooked.

Take a quick look at the photos via our Facebook page (link below) to get an idea of the size and layout of the Alford Hall. You don't need to be a Facebook member to access our page.

The venue can cater for around 300 souls (or in our case 'Soulies') who'll be able to enjoy 5 hours of great soul music every other month throughout 2010. Doors will open between 7.30pm and 12.30am, bi-monthly on the 4th Saturday of the month on the following dates:

January 23rd

March = No event (double booked with a wedding, ho hum)

May 22nd

July 24th

September 25th

November 27th

Whilst we couldn't get a later finish than 12.30am (due to local residents and licensing issues) we hope that by starting at 7.30pm on a Saturday that everyone will be able to get there early and enjoy a full evening. For those travelling a 7.30pm start still gives you a full 5 hours of quality soul music with a Premier Inn less than a mile up the road if you need to stay over.

We're probably one of the easier events to find and are on the main road from the M6, Junction 21 heading into Warrington (we're around 5 minutes from Junction 21).

In the meantime, thanks for reading this. Please have a look at our Facebook page and we hope to see you in 2010 at The Northern Line.

Chris, John & Moz
