Blunny
Yep!! Another cracking night at Orrell !! I'll bow to Andy's better knowledge regarding the numbers being a little down on usual (Christmas time is always a little unpredictable) but it certainly didn't affect the atmosphere. A great buzz all night with a busy dancefloor throughout. And no wonder, with the quality that was spun on the decks. Really enjoyed Carl and Danny's guest spots and Andy and the two Tony's never disappoint. That bloke who did the first half hour was pretty damn good too (Cheers for that Andy)!! See ya at the next 'un. P.S. Phil, no works do's on the 9th January mate, you missed a crackin' night that would have suited you and Ann down to the ground!! See ya soon mate!! And P.S.S. A big Happy Christmas to everyone if I don't see ya before!! Link to comment
JohnBarnsley
Many, many thanks to Ann, Tony and Blunny for making us so welcome on our first visit to Orrell and it certainly won't be the last! We crossed the Pennines knowing we would hear some different music, but were a bit worried if we would know anyone else there. What a welcome we received from Ann on the door and we soon realised there were other familiar faces from other soul venues including Blunny, and even the couple who stayed in the same B & B in Bridlington, John and Brenda and how nice it was to see Carol Mc Carthy who used to play Tony Galla for Joyce in the Vault at Skeg. Just proves what a small world it is especially on the soul scene. The floor was superb, Joyce danced most of the night! And the music, everything we expected and more, some we knew, some only heard on our cds and some we had never heard before but will hope to hear again. John particularly liked the Lowell Fulsom ' You say too much', wants to add it to his vinyl collection now and Joyce liked everything!!!! Finally arrived home mid afternoon on Sunday after a bit of retail therapy in the Grand Arcade. Interesting looking at the Casino memorabilia, but thought that HMV might just have had a better selection of Northern Soul and Motown cds. Thanks again and hope to see you all next year! A big thank you also goes out to all the DJ's, everyone of them doing a fantastic job keeping the floor busy all night, even a full 30 minutes after we should have finished. Looking forward to the next one which will be our 1st anniversary, hope you can make it. Andy Edited December 15, 2009 by soulster1 Link to comment

Brookesy
Only arrived late on as we had other commitments, but caught the end of Carls spot and Tonys full hour which were both tremendous. Plus the impromptu half hour at the end! A year already eh? How time flies------here's looking forward to the next twelve months. Link to comment
