Thinking of running a "Scottish Soul Collective" bus down from Bonnie Scotland for this one if anyone/clubs interested, please let us know as it will all depend on the numbers we get if we can pull it off or not?

It surprised me that it was 5 years ago too. It was a fantastic night, with the only disappointment being Dave waiting until I had gone to the loo, to play Valerie Lamar. That wont happen this time Dave good.gif

In the photo's of the other rooms. Is the bottom one the upstairs? And the ones on top, downstairs?

Which Valeria Lamar track was it?

Just I may have one in my sales box if youre interested

Really, really looking forward to this, went to the one at Queen's Hall sadly the last time I had the pleasure of talking to Dave Alcock before his sad demise

Its going to be a strange night, looking forward to the music which I know will be top notch but know I will also be thinking of those especially from the old leicester crewe such as Tommy and Ozzie that wont be able to make it

I never realised at the time how great the music really was

Now where did I stash those bombers whistling.gif

It was Dave's old Anne Sexton cover up - Shame. I have one, bought from Dave, but if you have another copy I may still be interested

Thats it. I've been told so many times.

But like some people and Algebra, I just cant make this one stick :-(

BTW did you get these clips from Keb by any chance? I lent Trickster some of my tapes recorded in Stafford, and had some heavy rock nonsense given back to me. He did say he lent them to Keb to tape before the last reunion.

Lets just say, try not to eat to many Easter Eggs, will give out more info real soon,

so back to the orginal question

What would you like to hear Gary Rushbrooke play in his set?

7 Sons "don't you dare say no" Gary is the only one to play this or is he?

Is it the track I've uploaded as unknown? I can't remember what it is, but Keb used to play it

Thats Wilbur Reynolds - Who'll Cry - Resist, Carolle Waller cover up for Guy wasn't it. Keb played the other one (instrumental) didn't he :g:or is it other way round

Hi All

When Chris and I did the last one I said it was a one off. Well five years have passed since then and the love for the venue does not seem to have deminished, so plans are a foot to put on another re-union next year.

So the venue is going to be awesome, and if this time round we can persuade Gary Rushbrooke to do it, what playlist would you most like to hear him spin.

Any other little details or features you would like to see, we are already working on the infamous card school, with many of it's original players ready to lose their shirt in the wee small hours.

Dave

Dave, is it 5 years since the Zanisbar (Stafford) one or the Queens Hall (Stoke) one?g.gif

Dave.

I think it was the other way round; I seem to remember on the video of the Oddfellows 2nd anniversary, Keb can be seen playing it in the little room.

Hi Mark

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it, I have some video footage from the night which I will post up once I have worked out how to edit it as it is a couple of hours long, also I have a review of the night from the Scootering Magazine from July 2005 and an interview with Dave Thorley from the same issue.

No I was the tw*t recording with a ghetto blaster 10 time the size of his head!

Still, it could be worse, you could have been given back some tapes full of Wigan pop-tastic casino classics!

For old times sake, could we be let in an hour earlier and sit on some stairs and listen to club sounds of the day played through a wall. If so, can I request Colonel Abrahams - Trapped.

And will the revolving dance floor return?

And can you play Jesse henderson 12" please.

Plus Colors - Am I gonna be the one 12" please

Dave was due to DJ last time, but minutes before his set he had a case of the jitters and went home instead. He will be missed, such a lovely guy.

Even though I have never been near a scooter I purchased that edition of the mag to read the review and was surprised to see a picture with me in it being told where to go by Mr Watermanrolleyes.gif. That was a great night....was surprised when the last tune played and the lights went on...time just flew by.

Your getting old dear boy, there was never a modern room, it was all played in the mainroom mixed in, as it should be. There were 2 seperate modern allniters done as specials in the upstairs room, maybe you were thinking of those. Had people like Bob Jones, Ivor Jones djing amongst others.

Oh dear Dave.....it's not me... rolleyes.gif ...there was definitely a modern room....I remember being torn between the two rooms, and not just for the modern all-nighters (which I also remember well).

I remember Adam and Robin occasionally playing in the main room....but I'm sure they mostly played upstairs with Sam and others...
