Spent the entire weekend scanning, recording, fighting against technology to provide you one of my best all-round sales lists to date. Had three hours sleep since Friday morning but I hope you guys enjoy browsing through the fruit of my labour. The result is an across the board selection with a lot of modern soul dancers and funk 45s, but also some northern rarities, deep soul obscurities and popcorn shufflers. This is part one of three parts I'll be putting online today. It'll be a few hours before I get everything online, but it'll be worth the wait with tunes coming up by A.C. Poston, Don Gardner, Spectron 7, Sherlock Holmes, The Blossoms, Jimmy Conwell, Eddie Bo, Camille Bob, Otis Blackwell, Wade Flemons and MANY more. Four Tracks - Like my love for you / Voo doo man - Mandingo 1 Excellent copy of one of the all-time classic rarities. £700 Pazazz - So hard to find / The right one - In-roads SOLD In-demand modern and an absolute belter. Looks and plays very clean. Sleeve missing though. £500 Jimmie Braswell - One more chance / Some changes made - Gene 220 Ultra rare deep soul. Vinyl has a lot of marks, of which some can be felt. Starts off noisy but clears up pretty well after 15 seconds or so. £400 Mighty Ghetto - Music makes a groove / I miss you - Woodpecker 220 Very tough to find funky soul. Looks pretty clean but starts off with some background noise. £400 Rozaa - I'm gonna do my thing / My baby knows best - Antone 5514 Quality dancer outta Detroit. Only a handful of copies known. Could be one of the biggies of 2010. Bought as 'mint', but has some smaller surface marks. £350 Darby - Sexy lady / Closer to you - Rio 724 Unknown and seldom seen modern soul winner. Looks and plays excellent. My last copy! £300 Rufus & Roots - Caught up / Do love you - T-Jaye 777 Sought-after modern soul in beautiful nick. £225 The Prolifics - If only I could fly / Keep on raining rain - Drive 6001 Group soul rarity. Looks virtually unplayed but plays with a wee bit of static here and there. £200 Garrett Saunders - A day or two / Easier said than done - Serock 2001 DJ Copy Soulful popcorn oldie. Rare demo with a bit of ringwear, but plays very clean. £200 Jack & The Mods - It's your thing / One is enough for me - Hamtown 50115 ncredible double-sider but... vinyl has a NASTY warp right at the start and an inaudible crack. Record looks pretty clean apart from that and played through if an extra 1.5 grams were added to tonearm weight. Selling this one as-is or otherwise it goes back in the collection. £200 Teri Thornton - Molly Marlene / Where was I - Mothers 1000 This one tuns up very rarely. The very rare picture issue of Teri Thornton's mover. With some interesting liner notes on backside of PS.Both record and sleeve in excellent nick. £150 Tony Borders - Cheaters never win / Love and a friend - Greenlite 101 Deep soul beauty that rarely turns up. Looks virtually unplayed but plays with a bit of static in places. £150 Tommy T and The Targets - Sales pitch / Marching coast to coast - Big R 2001 DJ Copy Very clean demo of this rare novelty dancer. £130 Jimmy Gresham and The Gibson Kings - Nobody knows (The trouble I see) / Now that I have you - Kitty 1005 Killer mid-tempo Cali R&B mover. Superficial marks and some background hiss (might be down to the pressing, never heard another copy). VERY rare one. £125 Billy Dee - King Bee / Soul heaven - Le Cam 124 Very clean copy of this instrumental funky mover outta Texas. £120 Seeburg Spotlite Band - Twine time / Chicken back - Seeburg 3007 Rare and classy cover of the Alvin Cash classic. Looks pretty clean with some superifcial marks that can be heard during first 10 seconds. £100 Clifton Dyson / Gwen Matthews - I'm giving up / So lonely - QS Tasty modern. Vinyl looks pretty clean with just a few superficial marks. £100 Art Freeman - Slippin' around with you / I can't get you off my mind - Fame 1008 HOLD Classic nighter sound. Few superficial marks overpowered by loud and strong pressing. £100 Rudy Ludaway - What's wrong baby / Trying to make it home - Galico 102 Very rare first label copy of this quality 60s sound. Copy looks very clean. £100 Kings Go Forth - One day / You're the one - Mr. C 1001 Needs no introduction. Best northern tune from the last decade.
