John Moffatt
Well, after the excesses of Christmas and New Year, and with all the foul weather around, we expected a quiet one . We should have known better !!!! With numbers up on the last couple of months, and a really enthusiastic bunch in , we had a cracking night. Thanks to all for making it such a brilliant event . Some had come a long way. It was terrific to meet you lot from Kings Lynn . We hope you all had a great time - we'd really love to see you all again sometime soon . Many, many thanks to our guest DJs, Pete Taylor and Joe Lakin , who played fantastic spots and really got the place moving with a top mix of the rare, the underplayed and the well-known. Apologies for the technical issues with one of the decks, that will be sorted for next time, and for the impromptu closing then reopening of the bar. All in all it was one of the best nights we've had. Next month is anniversary night, so we're really looking forward to that. Thanks again, Gary & John Playlists that we have are as follows: John 8-8.45 Carol Fran - You Can't Stop Me Impressions - Senorita I Love You Edward Hamilton & Arabians - Now You Have To Cry Alone H.B. Steve Myers
What a fantastic night and great to hear the underplayed rarieties instead of the usual same old. Our friends from Kings Lyn who are here for a family party thouroughly enjoyed themselves as did everyone. I'm sure I can speak for our friends ; They were expecting their trip up north to a real Northern Soul venue to be something special and the Horticultural club certainly lived up to their expectations and beyond. Looking forward to the next one. Well done Steve Link to comment

But that never happened as we just couldnt pull ourselves away from the best atmoshere Ive experienced at the Horti and the pure quality of music by all DJs. Pete Taylors spot was absolutely awesome, mixing records worth 3 and 4 figure sums with classics like the Four Tops where did you go which absolutely packed the dancefloor (Playlist please Pete) With such a choice of venues these days it will always be quality that will be the deciding factor and this soul night has some serious quality. We specially set up to play the rarer and underplayed stuff 'cos we thought there was a demand for it. It's great to be told we were right.
