cressy
robs records, got a boot darkest days for a tenner ian Had a great night spent most of the time in the Classic soul & Motown room, enjoyed DJ'ing in there & to finish off double decking with Dave it made my night, we seemed keep the music flowing & the dancers on the floor.. Great stuff must do it again sometime ...Cressy ps should be able to pick a proper Darkest Days up for around £50 to £60 lesser condition perhaps a bit less That's not much more than a boot & you get an original Edited January 18, 2010 by cressy Link to comment

Guest SoulSceneRob
Hi everyone, phew! just found time to get on. First I would like to say THANK YOU to ALL you soulies for attending last Sat night, A few great people missing on sat for obvious reasons, you were sadly missed but we hope you had a magical night at the Met. Thank you for those who attended for the fist time and we hope to see you again. Now down to wooley bully & the flasher. . . 1st Wooley bully was played coz someone asked for it. 2nd The flasher, during the early set we were having trouble with one of the decks so, just grabbed the first record which had a long play time to give us time to rectify the prob. this DID give us enough time and the night carried on. . . . Hope that clears things up for you Tez? It won't happen again Lol anyhow, the night continued as usual to a packed floor. thanks to All the dj's, Gaz,(the soul Shooter) Kyp,(the faith) Dave (Mr Motown) , the magical Mitch, the marvelous Cressey, Oggy, Casper (vinyl lynel), Gray (the groove Weaver) and myself. Tezza
he played them for you terry ,you now you like them lol If you've nothing constructive to say its probably better to say nowt Graham. Is that supposed to be some kind of justification or just diversionary tactics - either way you are not talking to some 18 year old who will grow up thinking this is the kind of stuff his parents generation used to listen to at The Wheel, Torch and The Casino. A lot of good friends have passed and this is an insult to thier memory. Link to comment

(SoulSceneRob) Hi Rob. I apreciate the fact that someone asked for it but you can say no. Would you play anything if someone asked you for it?? Flasher - you must have had it in your box to pick it out - bring it just in case someone asked you for it?? Respect for your venue though, although again its a little wanting in the Music policy for me. Yes I know, If you don't like it then don't come but that is the attitude that is going to let mediocraty take charge. There is so much good, underplayed stuff out there that never gets to see the light of day yet we still keep playing The Champion and Tim Tam and the Turn Ons or whatever the hell its called. Be brave and look deeper into that big box of Northern you have. I understand these are the ramblings of an old Soulie but I have the scenes best interset at heart. You get good feedback so you must be doing 'something' right. Probably be there next time so you can give me a bollocking then. KTF - Tezza XXXX KTF Till Feb X X X Rob Link to comment

I appreciate your words and yes you are right. I've tried before but just get labeled an old Dinosaur, someone unable to move with the times. Its sad but our Northern Soul Scene, as I remembered it, is being trivialised and made to look exactly like people used to think we were. I'll keep it in my Heart and no one will drag it from me. We need to stand up and shout but theres too few of us now - Too many gone, either to the Big Sprung Wooden Floor in the Sky or sucumb to peer pressure and gone over to the Dark Side.
