Guest Posted January 24, 2010 Share Posted January 24, 2010 well another farnborough night has come but it hasnt gone yet.....the night was excellent and the site of seing a full dancefloor for most of the night is still fresh in my mind....there were ppl outside waiting to get which is always nice to see.....the sound system was spot on and if ppl are gonna play top tunes it needs to be it was my turn to do the opening spot and after chris played a cpl to dbl check the system it was left for me to do nearly two hours...not complaing as i had some new toons to play out....ppl were dancing at the end of my set and it was up to chris and danny to keep them there which they did..sharing an hour set due to danny being almost wheel chair bound......there were a steady flow of ppl through the door and it was a shock to see my mrs turn up..... mischief took over from chris and danny and played a great mix of known and semi known tunes...a thing he does so well and the floor seemed to like most of his toons....mischief handed over to bridgewaters finest...pete lyster and boy what a treat he gave us....monster after monster of top oldies and current tunes flowed effortlessly from his playbox.. he had me drooling at his set and writing plenty down....what was also great was how pete ENJOYED himself behind the decks as many djs stand there with a face like a slapped arse....he was only to eager to share info on the tunes he played too cathy the lady behind the man was a real pleasure to chat too and was pleased everyone loved his set....including my mrs who even told pete how great he was......shes never told me that........she told me i need to buy lots of the tunes he played.....pete left a full floor for chris and danny to end the evening off and by and large it stayed full til the very last tune at around ten past one..... i cant wait to see the playlists from the night a very big thanks to all the ppl that attended from surrey,hants,sussex,somerset,berks and anywhere else ive forgotten... far too many ppl to name but there fast becoming regulars...to those of that you that have been to a few but not made it back....come and join this great night at a nice venue with an up for it crowd and frienly ppl....to those that havent made it yet get yourselves down here....the next night is may 15th when our special guest for the 3rd anniversary is THE ONLY GAY IN HIS VILLAGE......mr sean....LETS AVE YER...chapman... so there you have it....my play list and the usual you-tubes to follow...thanks for your continued support moldie Link to comment

We had about 90 people through the door which is a nice number of people. and i would say that everyone had a good time, The floor was busy for most of the night. Thanks to all the dj`s for a grand job, Thanks Pete for doing Farnborough proud with a blinding special guest set. Onwards and upwards. The next night at Farnborough is 15th May with special guest for the night Sean Chapman. So put the date in your diary and lets see ya all back for another quality soul night. Link to comment

The music went in and out of various phases, which enabled the devotees to enjoy a good dance in steady intervals and thus pacing themselves to keep going throughout the proceedings. It was still busy when we left with 5 minutes to go.. Yes, Pete Lyster did successfully deliver various types of new music. But for me, the oldie 'Tracks to your mind' - Sounds of Lane was the play of the night. It took me back to my earliest memories of Wigan Casino, with the energy and sweat it created on that huge dancefloor. I, like Pete said of himself over the microphone at the time, love these manic instrumentals.. I'm not that sure if others were of the same mind, because some spaces appeared on the dancefloor as it was being spun. Maybe it's those aching limbs and the demands of it's fast tempo that make it difficult to keep up with? Either way, I wasn't complaining because there was now the space to move around in and I really enjoyed it. . Thanks Pete!
