Hi Baz

Three rooms - Northern, Orwell & TSOP

The main problem will be what you'll be missing in the other two rooms whilst in any one of the other rooms!

Loving the idea mate, let's hope we get some great support for all three rooms thumbsup.gif

Cheers

Steve

Think you can guess which room we will be in Steve. Just booked travelodge room Loftys first visit to the hall. See you then

but Adam, if you had listened to me last night you'd have got your room for 15 squid like we did...

suppose I can tell everyone now - rooms at Bury Travelodge on the M66 were 15 quid last night, but seem to be 22 quid today - so if you're thinking of staying there, gerrit booked pronto and you might grab a bargain!

Hi Mick.....probably gonna keep the record bar in the foyer (always prefered it there to be honest) but open to opinion on that one. Think the upstairs bar/lounge will be open though to serve the Orwell room and TSOP Modern room patrons.

Deffo plenty of interest as you say, had calls from as far as London, Sunderland and Scotland on this think this three rooms of soul has definitely 'Hit The Spot'.......Anita's Eddie is celebrating his 50th with us as well, so quite a crowd coming with them, and Birthday is joining us on the decks as well thumbup.gif Roll On the 26th!

I think I'm inclined to be a bit selective with the flesh pressing. Perhaps a little manly upper arm squeeze and a slightly out of control giddy grin will do.

dean

Yep...that'll do nicely, let's not over do it whistling.gif Just make sure you bring some of those soulful treats you were spinning at the last session .....sublime was Parkers early doors ever THAT good?..................

Actually Barry or Great Leader of the Revoltionary Peoples Collective of Bury, to give you your formal title, I've been burrowing through the boxes to play some of the forgotten greats of the crossover scene from the last 25 years. Well try to anyway. As to Parkers 'early doors' session: that would be far tooo soulful for the young people of today and anyway most of 'em are ballads not dancers. I mean I'm a midtempo kinda guy but you can take it too far. More to the point, Oh Great Father Of Soulful Socialism, are you publishing the DJ Times as I need to negotiate transportation with my lovely wife?

Baz is the Orwell room in the same place? the upstairs room. Looking forward to it.First of 2010

Adam

Hi Adam....yes it is ...........should be a bit darker in ther cause they are opening the big bar between the two upstairs rooms, cause it looks like this is going to be a packer!

See you therethumbsup.gif

GREAT NEWS

One of my all time venues. I cannot go without saying that the bar staff at Bury are the best staff anywhere on the scene!!!

Yep! great venue! The main room with its superb dance floor, big stage, balcony and brilliant acustics make it a perfect Northern room; not to mention the Peel Room and Lancaster suite upstairs, each with their own dancefloors, bars and quality sound systems, hosting the Orwell crossover session and the TSOP (The Sound Of Prestwich) Modern Soul session, really brings this all together to make ULTIMATE SOUL a must visit night thumbup.gif

Here is a thing. I'm DJing the two Swing Out Sister gigs @ The Band On The Wall on mon22/tues 23 which requires one selection of lovely music, then on Friday for ULTIMATE SOUL I must pack TWO selections for the thrusting modernism of the TSOP room and the strings'n'things excess of the ORWELL room. Thus one spends more time packing than gigging. Of course it doesn't help that I'm a little bit wayward when it come to filing but the upside of that, and there is always an upside my loved ones, is that you come across platters you'd forgotten about or hadn't played for yonks [that's a goodly seventies expression]. Takes for bleedin' ever though.
