Anyone Ever Get Anything Nicked At Wigan

Recommended Posts

The first time I ever went to Wigan I remember buying a coke put it down on a table and went to dance when I got back it had gone.

Those Coke bottles were a work of art, real glass, twisted at the top end, I'm serious too as I work for Coke now, I realise how good those bottles actually were.

I got £3 taken off me inside the casino at knifepoint - was my money for the 4th anniversary ticket, happened in the corridor. 100% true.

My 1965 black Mini Cooper!!! Parked opposite the entrance between 2 other Mini`s, and mine was the one that was playing truant the following morning.

Found later that same day in Prescot, everything still there, coats shoes and a bag of nutty-puffs  Only thing missing was my toolbox out of the boot. So fess up now you low-life bin dippers  the statute is probably long past.

A gal from Hindley Green nicked me heart @ WC in 74. A bit crass to misquote a line from teh Carstairs, but

I'd shake to teh core of me should I ever hear her maiden name again.

Got stopped in the car park across the road from casino by some lads masquerading as D.S. they said "greater manchester drug squad,

turn out yer pockets" l replied. . "Sonny AND Cher, now f*ck off" and walked (very quickly) away, my whole body trembled like

an earthquake. I don't know where the courage to do it came from, but some friends of mine who were sat 30 yards

away saw what happened and called me over to their car, the 2 'squad' officers (ratman & bobin) disappeared into the night and

never returned. True Story.

BOL! Extremely timely, that was, cos I just got propositioned in Le Rendezvous by a gal* from same place. Says she never done this before, then forgets & later says 'I find hotels a bit clinical'.

*Over 45, natch.

a little off topic but proves there are honest people out there, i was at blackburn, tonys emporium back in 1998 and having taken a lot of photos i put the camera back in my black holdall!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! on getting home i found some one had nicked the camera, and it was new. anyhow a few weeks later i get a letter with a photo in asking if it was me and a few questions to clarify and a phone number. when i rang the guy it turned out i had put the camera in someone elses black holdall. they had them developed and asked around for the owner. a meet was arranged and camera handed over. been mates with joe and shell corance ever since. now thats what our scene is about.

i have to say i nearly returned the camera to the shop as everyone in all my photo`s had red eye ......DOH. THEN IT CLICKED!

There was once upon a time in liecester ,late sixties, early seventies ,I do believe a uniform copper who was also a junkie who used his position to break into shops and steal goods for sale or if he came across a burglary he would help himself, this copper also broke into a couple of chemists to steal the drugs (heroin ,morphine) he craved.,I believe he was caught and charged but of course did not go to prison but got kicked off the force,Its been a long time since but I can remember being told this by some older lads from corby, passy, john boyd and some non scene drug dealers from Liecester who were around late sixties, seems like people would throw this blokes name up up at the ds at that time taunting them about the honesty or lack of it in the old bill, when I got nicked in that area late seventies I couldnt help bringing up this bent coppeers name and believe me you could see they were still well rankled about him,I believe the ex coppers first name was definately graham but I am not so sure about his surname, something to do with trees, woods or forest or some such thing I am not quite sure.Perhaps folk from liecester who were around late sixties would know. Also in the mid eighties when living with my ex in northants there was also a case in the paper about another thieving copper this one had been caught trying to break into the co op in desborough with tools including brace and bit and jemmys wearing a pair of dark coloured overalls over his uniform,he was suppo0ssed to be on duty at the time, this one did get a jail sentence three years if I recall correctly,It turned out that he had been under suspicion for doing this sort of thing for a very long time and it had taken years to get round to doing something about it.The moral of the story then is that not all people in positions where the role they fill coming as it does with generaly socialy accepted expectations that have developed through time for such a role for example that they are honest, trustworthy or will act in your best interests when representing you or dealing with matters concerning your mental and physical health will actually be the case.People you would think should not in fact can and do slip through selection boards, standards have changed over years in regard to role behaviour but the publics expectations have not shifted in line in many instances to accomodate such changes.Doctors are still trusted implicitly by many yet it has been many years since the hypocratic oath has been used to swear in a person to a vocation in medicine yet the overwhelmingly widely held belief among folk is that such an oath binds a doctor to behave in a certain way? Indeed the idea of vocation is just about finished in most of the professions

.I have a personal story of a police officer breaking the law and lying to try to obtain a conviction against me when I was only twelve years old ,in fact tried to fit me up for something I had not done and years later I consider this to have been a pivotal point in my early teen behaviour onwards for many years till I realised that influence. .The police officer a c.i.d sergeant actually said to me that in court there was no way my word would be taken over his ,that he (knowingly lying)would be be believed. This so called "man",then at the court case stood in the witness box swore to tell the truth on oath then proceeded to lie about me,the court though did believe me and the case was dismissed this incident I believe influenced my views of the police for many years to follow. The lying c.i.d dick head went on to become chief inspector of northants police, truithful old tell lies to get a conviction on a twelve year old lad sergeant c.i.d Briggs you see did go on to rise up to the top didnt the lying barsteward do well full story of my encounter with Mr briggs v a twelve year old and losing in court coming up soon.

What did you do? go in and sleep :g: Can´t believe anybody could say the above if they went often, all these things were going on every week

One question did you see many fat blokes with baggy trousers on? you would now :D .................and fat birds

Steve.

Never ever heard a peep abouit the fake ds thing that was going on and off for so long it was talked abouit so much its a wonder a warning about it wasnt printed on the back of the membership cards, never heard of any one or seen anyone in the morning standing about loudly proclaiming their, bag, jacket etc had gone missing.Never heard a whisper someone had bought dud gear, been extorted for money, had records go missing.Yes lots of handshakes and good mates stuff happened course it did but yin and yan, light and dark most certainly even going for a piss would cause fear to rise in some at the prospect of making that little journey and I dont mean the state of the toilets, but who may be lurking around them waiting like patient anglers for the right fish to bite.
