Ian
Got this delivered a few Years back, when I opened the package it dropped out hit the floor & chipped the edge. If anybody is interested in a rare classic for the right price, that plays ok & is mint apart from the damage, drop me a pm & make an offer. The chip is not all the way into run in & can still be cued in ok. Ian Edited February 5, 2010 by Ian Link to comment Social source share
Agentsmith
OH BOY, SEE IT, WANT IT!......and it aint cathedral city. last time i saw one FOR SALE (not auction) was in butch's box at keele, year before last £1500. now the last j.m. auction realised £800+ so, big discrepancy and that was MINT as well. bearing in mind you have a chip but as you say it plays perfect, the ball is somewhat in your court where reasonability is concerned on price. it is truely an all-nighter record and with a long association to richard searling who covered it as christine cooper in 77/78 and kept it that way for a number of years, as well as being one of my personal holy grails! rob.h Link to comment Social source share

The only time I ever had this record: I got an issue off Ebay by offering the seller $250, the very same week I bought a demo I think it may have been off Kev Roberts (or did I sell it to Kev) - so I had 2 copies inside a week, cost me less than £500 the two, and I've never had one since. NEV
Always remember this record with fond memories back in the late 70's To stand on the balcony and watch the floor when this was spun by Richard was jaw dropping Thinking back to those threads about " big casino records" this sticks out in my mind a lot more than Frank Wilson ever will I was too young to afford records but remember people telling me this was the most expensive at that particular time Link to comment Social source share

Boogaloo
Used to think that this was as rare as hen's teeth but there's been loads sold over the last 18 months. When I say loads I can personally recall about 6 copies up for sale in that time period - so not that rare obviously. Or am I wrong? Link to comment Social source share

Agentsmith
you know everyone thinks you can only play this at all nighters....im sorry this is northern soul a-la-wigan, how can anyone deny it being played anywhere? it has everything that qualifies it as a true great, the bass intro, tambourine, steamtrain rythmn and percussion, wailing girlie backing vocals and vicky sounding for all the world like an american negro.....well it was covered as christine cooper, ironic she was a stablemate.personally, its in my all-time top 10 and to be there and witness its religeous popularity with the casino breatheren was breathtaking i can assure you!( ref my thread about wigan) WOULDNT THIS HAVE LOOKED GOOD ON A CINEFILM? Greg Mick Smith had mine (stock copy), got some very good trades for it equalling about 1000 or 1200, that was in 2001. Few weeks later I got him a Christine Cooper issue and a janie Grant issue too. Steve G
AGree a great sound. John A found the first copy in Allentown, Pa. in a hillbilly record shop / warehouse - it was probably the most unusual thing, as being found there and with the title you'd think it was a "country" release......rather than a blasting northern sound.
