Another unusual record and one that is hard to pigeonhole - it has elements of Deep Soul but also has Moog parts and synthesiser splashes all through - the flip is not actually completely instrumental and has some vocal parts and works better for me because the instrumentation is more at the forefront - nice 45... )

( REDUCED FROM £15!! I've had a few of this guy's records now and they've all been good - this one is no exception - hard brass and heavy organ sounds - seems to be a bit of a sleeper...anyways, very, very worthy... )

( REDUCED FROM £30!! Dunno if this is actually the boxer, Joe Frazier, himself on vocals here? Guess it must be - the label 'Jo(e) Bo(xer)' is a big clue - it's actually a very decent stab at a Funk side - produced Richard Rome and written by Bobby Byrd - looks kinda obscure / rare...good condition - light scuffs, nuttin major.... )

It's actually a good Boogie tune when the singer keeps quiet - not for the faint-hearted...!!! )

I believe this is Jon's first-ever LP release? I notice that a recent 'Best Of' included 7 of the 12 cuts from this LP? That, for me, speaks volumes..........buy buy buy........sleeve is a bit tatty due to slack storage but vinyl is criss..........never heard Jon sing 'Find Yourself A Lover'? Ya won't believe how stunning this man's vocal control is...when he hits those low notes, my mind goes into spasm and I can't move till the track is finished.......big, big fan..... )

That copy went for £250 - sure - the price has dropped a bit since then but this remains a killer and extremely rare Soul/Funk set - 'Stax' , 'Funky Feeling' , 'Egg Roll' , 'Phillie Dog' , 'Watermelon Man' etc - so good! Condition is exemplary...again, this LP has been well-looked after... )

( REDUCED FROM £30!! Creeping up indemand again - price is pushing $100 elsewhere - great LP from Tito and Tony - several good Latin Funk/Soul tracks - 'Mr Slick' , 'Descarga TNT' etc - sleeve is a bit rough with a bit of tape here and there but vinyl is clean as a whistle... )

Johnny Zamot 'Zamot' (Mericana / USA / 1974 / VG+/Ex+) *£40*

( REDUCED FROM £75!! Light wear / yellowing ot sleeve at opening - barely noticeable - I mention it only in passing - wax is 99% clean - shrinkwrap is still in place...undoubtedly one of THE best versions of 'Soul Makossa' ever recorded with superb flutes and a banging bassline - and this is the one LP on this label that very rarely shows up too... the vinyl is pristine, has made £100 many, many times - definitely one of JZ's rarest LPs...superb label too.... )
