Northern Soul + Classic Mecca Anthems

Featuring Colin Curtis and Bryan Wakelin

60's Northern Soul & Motown Floorfillers

Baz Maleady, Jem Booth, Dave Rostron, and Macky

This is my third year at the revival reunion,

everything looks set for a crackin night and weekend thumbsup.gif

Saw Brian at the Tower last week really nice guy looking forward to some real Norther Soul music next week.Not been to the Castle before,heard its a crackin, venue see you all there Chris n Ann

Caught Bryans spot at the Soul Suite in Blackpool last November after the weekender & was one of the best spots I heard all last year & totally unexpected.

Should keep that Curtis fella on his toes :D

Looks a cracking night at a truly superb venue.

Caught Bryans spot at the Soul Suite in Blackpool last November after the weekender & was one of the best spots I heard all last year & totally unexpected.

Should keep that Curtis fella on his toes biggrin.gif

Must say the last one was an absolute belting night, as were the previous ones he put on.

Went along to the first of the Northern nites held at the Norbreck Castle earlier this year, gotta say Bryan and Jem have a total winner on their hands.....The room is superb, the sound system was excellent but most of all the music and the crowd were BRILLIANT! Lodsa old Mecca 'faces' there for the Northern night and they'll all be there in force on Saturday for the Mecca Reunion!

The lads always get a good turn out, but this is the best venue they've had and personally I can't wait for this with the one and only Mr Curtis in full effect.......plus Martyn Pitt doin the 'Mecca Shuffle' ........ Magic biggrin.gif

One night to go and it looks like this one is going to be a stormer!! Getting all excited!! thumbsup.gif

Colin, Bryan and Macky will be playing those Mecca favourites again in the main ballroom and Baz, Dave, Macky and Myself will be spinning the oldies and Motown in the second room.

If you havent been before the dancefloor in the main room is a massive sprung wooden dance floor of 110 feet by 30 feetbiggrin.gif

This is one of Blackpools premier events and will hopefully be an awesome night - the wifes even got a new dress to wear! swoon.gif

looking forward to seeing the wifes new dress,im guessing that it will be as revealing as ever!!!

back to the do,this is going to be a cracker,after last years revival i cant wait for this do to start.

got the tunes ready to spin,now i just need plenty of dancers.

Just got back from setting up for the Mecca reunion at the Norbreck Hotel and Bryan has pulled out all the stops again!! thumbup.gif

As you walk into the Norbeck Ballroom you will be greeted by the "Metro girls" - and you will actually be stood on a large piece of the original "Mecca Highland Room" red tartan carpet - Bryan saved this piece from the Highland room just before the Mecca was demolished. On sale will also be pieces of the original parquet floor that was once the Highland Room dance floor - Bryan bought three tons of it!!!! shhh.gif

Bryan also has the original Highland Room dj podium which is now proudly displayed in the centre of the stage and will be used once more by the dj's to play those memories - please feel free to take pictures of Colin or Bryan spinning the sounds - I am sure that they will pose for you if they get chance wave.gif

Commemrorative T shirts and badges will also be on sale and all the dj's in both rooms are all set you give you what will hopefully be one of the best nights of the yearbiggrin.gif

The main ballroom has Macky doing the warm up spot till 10pm then its Bryan spinning the sounds for an hour till 11pm and then "The Man" himself Mr Colin Curtis will be doing at full two hour spot of Mecca monsters until 1am - finishing off will be Bryan until 2am.

Room two kicks off asap with local dj's (and SITS dj's) Dave Rostron, Jem Booth, Macky and Baz Maleady playing all the Casino oldies, Motown memories and current biggies - including Soul in the Sun tunes - and runs through to 2am too.

Hope to see you there as its going to be a packer!!!!! yes.gif
