I decided to play an across the board set which reflected my taste in Soul. Hopefully it went down well. Big thanks also to Gary for unselfishly removing Geater Davis from his playlist and allowing me to have the pleasure in spinning this glorious tune. hopefully I repaid the debt by loaning gary my Bobby paterson and the Mustangs, 'dont be so mean' Not seen kennedys as full as this for a long time, so pressure on. Guest kelvinx Posted May 30, 2010 Share Posted May 30, 2010 First visit to this venture for me and had a great night.I think what made it special was the fact that it is not overly publised in the bar upstairs so its more of a word of mouth event, so although it was very busy it was a really mixed audience. Many of the younger crowd are probably just going out of curiosity for an hour or so but hopefully will be back and could support other events in the city as well.... I think its great that its free so every hour there was whole load of new faces...Thought the music was spot on for a city centre bar a few classics but lots of quality stuff as well. And my banging head on Saturday morning backed that up. MMMM Guinness! Good work Dekka - you dropped some right tunes in that set mate. There's one tune that we need to discuss in more detail as I need it in my box right away! I've just tried to work out what I played but my box is so mixed up after it I'd be guessing on the full set. Maybe next time I'll do a playlist.... and stick to it. Great to see a full dancefloor for much of the night though - we must be doing something right eh! And great to see a load of non-soulies on the floor all night. It made a nice change playing some classics tucked away in the back of my box as they never usually see the light of day, alongside rarer stuff - all on the right label of course!! A cracking night.
