East Coast Connection - Summer in the parks - New Direction

I also remember I believe Steve Whittle playing Pigbag - Papa's got a brand new pigbag - Rough Trade in M's before it was a national hit

Agree lots of 100 mile an hour dancers were played

''Gloria'' was added to my list as aq wind up, just knew some opinated small; minded person(s) would come on and slag it off:thumbsup: .

I argree its not a ''soul'' record as such BUT, depending on your choice of stimulant its a blinding track.

A big fat spliff loaded with some quality sinsimellia, not the shite skunk most people are toking, and Gloria is one helluva track to get off on, its the tune, not the vocals that do the business, (anyone know if there's an instrumental out there???????).

To the small minded peeps above, open your lugholes and DO NOT limit your listening to what is euphemistaically called Northern Soul......Flloyd, Genisis etc also have a place. I took a load of singles to a hippy party, around 1975, everyone was on the wizz, BUT they thought things like Double o Soul, twine Time, et al were brilliant....and thats hippies with long long hair, not buzz cut sooul freaks.

NUFF SAID, WHAT DO DO RECKON JOHN (Soulcarp)?

What's you vote on the fastest 45's to be played on the soul scene, a few suggestions below:

Some great 45's and proud to say that when I was slightly younger would dance my heart out to so many of these, not so much these days.

Who was the drummer on the Kellmac 45's, is it possible to play the drums this fast? If so this would have been great to see! I know the group were made up of Larry Brownlee, Carl Washington and Robert Lewis.

Burning Bush - Keeps on burning - Mercury

Butlers - She tried to kiss me (all I could do was run) - Liberty

Cautions - No other way - Shrine

Classics - So glad that I found you - Yan-g

COD's - She's fire - Kellmac

Colt 45's - Lady lady - Jerry

Combinations - Whatcha gonna do - Kellmac

Damon Fox - Packin' up - Fairmount

Harry Betts - Theme from the Fantastic Plastic Machine - Epic

James Lewis & A Case of Tyme - Manifesto - Legend

James Wesley Smith - Talkin' 'bout women - Angel Town

Jimmy Armstrong - Mystery - Shrine

Little Nicky Soul - I wanted to tell you - Shee

Little Ron & the Esquires - I found someone - Charade

Little Stanley - The Stran - Vance

Mystic Moods - Astral Trip - WB

Royal Esquires - Ain't gonna run - Prix

Sandi Sheldon - Your gonna make me love you - Okeh

Triumphs - I'm coming to your rescue - Okeh

Ty Karim - You just don't know - Romark

Velvets - I gotta find me somebody - 20th Century

Velvet Satins - Nothing can compare to you - General American

Vondells - Hey girl you've changed - Airtown

Any additions?

Mark

Sonic Explosion - We belong together

Frankie "Loveman" Crocker - Ton of dynamite

Ronnie "Loveman" Stokes - Touch you again

Anyone remember an instrumental by Eart Wind and Fire called "Bio"?

It was the flip of a well known 12 of theirs. May have got an odd spin at Casino or maybe the Ritz. Seem to remember it was a fast shuffler.
