Never noticed 20 down Sian.Seemed as busy as usual.

I meant about 20 down on our usual anniversaries, which always have a good attendance and no, it didn't seem like it, we only knew because we click them in for fire regs...

Don't dwell on it, it's just a fa§ade she puts on to draw you in.... then, when she has, watch out laugh.gif

Was just thinking the same thing but we still think she's lovely. No one wants a girl without spirit and she sure is her mothers daughter...laugh.gif

Can we look forward to 'Lou Does Rugby' ? laugh.gif

laugh.gif...brilliant...I'm gunna try and get the uncut copy...

I'm at the stage where I'm starting to remember bits and sat with a stupid grin on my face. Thank you all for making Rugby what it is...

Just like to say a big thanks to everyone involved, had a great time, heard some great choons and meet some great people and to top it all was given the chance to spin some shiny plastic thingee's in the freestlee room .:D

Really enjoyed your spot Tim thumbsup.gif, that's what I love about the lickle room, you get a chance to hear people play something a bit different than the norm.

Just about recovered from the weekend, I had a great time, hear'd some quality tunes, met some new soulies, had some laughs, talked bollocks, and went home happy blink.gif ... thats what it's all about.

Sian/Dean, thank you for your hospitality back at yours, never laughed so much in ages..... the banter was brilliant :D.

Well done and I can't wait for the next one in April .

Well wasn't that a good night !

It started at 3pm on the Saturday for me when I arrived at Sian & Dean's house, and Dean put a can of bitter in my hand ! It finished at 10 am the next morning ! Now that's an allnighter :yes:

In between we had some great music, some great laughs,a couple of Birthdays, a Staffordshire bull terrier in the foyer being fussed by everyone, and a virtual league of nations. I reckon there were two French, two Germans, at least four Irish (Nortrhand South), a Scandanavian, and a Mexican, and at least one Scot in the venue !

It was so good to see the place buzzing as well, right down to the full dancefloor on the last record. The film crew were busy as well. It was John Pugh's lad Will in charge, so I have no worries that it will be a film that takes the piss. Will has attended many an allnighter with John and Kenny Onions, so knows the score, so I hope it all turns out ok for his Uni project.

Ah well, back into hibernation for me now, well at least until next Friday :shhh:

Thansk to Sian and Dean for the hospitality, the other DJs for doing their part so well, and everyone who chatted, danced, or just enjoyed themselves.

Tis true - the wee lass told me herself.

And what better way to celebrate, than at Rugby.. :shhh:

Loved the set Carl&Maria did in the freestyle room!

We both had a ball, special thanks to Sian for the romantic bit's  x

And her dad Frank for the lift!

It was a superb niter - a fine tribute to Sian and Dean for all their hard work over the years....I had a great time

Agreed Dave, everything I'd look for in a niter!

Great venue, friendly people, superb blend of the old, new and obscure.

Really enjoyed doing an hour with such an 'up for it' crowd.

Thank you for having me. :D

Well done Sian and Dean. The night is a credit to you.

Happy Anniversary Rugby... and long may it continue. :D

As always I had a mighty fine time, just wish I could split my body into two parts so I could be in both rooms at the same time.

Actually make that 4 parts, so I can be in the record bar and the passageway (where you inevitably bump into friends old and new and stop chatting for ages) too.

btw thanks to everybody for being understanding with the film crew, hopefully we'll be pleased with the result. They are only young lads, learning to become film makers, and apart from my son who's grown up with the music and venues, non of the other boys had got any idea of what a Niter was.

They'd been told to be respectful of the people, which I hope they were. the only fly in the ointment as it were happened when I'd asked my old friend Jackie Harris if she minded being filmed (and she was thrilled at the idea - always been one of my favourite female dancers our Jackie, about as good as it gets imho) The cameraman lit her up quite close so as not to disturb anyone else's enjoyment. She was in full swing, planted a perfect spin in full view of the camera just as somebody walked in front of the camera and put their fingers up, ruining the shot.

Ah well, it takes all sorts I suppose..... so if you do see the boys out filming anywhere, please just ignore them rather than unnecessarily ruin what would have been a great shot and a brill advert for this wonderful scene of ours...

btw glad I got to see the ever youthful looking Simon Hunt, always raises my enjoyment when I see him in a venue ( even if we didnt get as much time to chat as I'd have liked) Be great if we got to hear him play some tunes here in the future - in either or both rooms !

Another brilliant anniversary at Ruggers - I always think this is the best niter of the year for superb venue & dancefloor, eclectic mix of quality soul, and the friendliest most sociable hosts & punters in the country. Some fierce craic going down throughout, I'm still laughing now at some of the jokes, what a great crowd.

Having two sets in the main room leaning to the more modern side meant that I was in seventh heaven - awesome floor filling action from Buchanan & Hampsey. Warren I think you have to win the prize for sharpest dressed DJ - how cool did you look? I think all DJs should be made to wear suits in future for my viewing pleasure

Does anyone have a soundfile for the Solaris/Pete Simpson thing that Adam played? Really enjoyed that. And such a pleasure to hear my fave Intrepids track played out, amongst a hundred other favourites from the Hytones to the Debonaires.

Many thanks to the genial promoters Sian & Dean for all their efforts & hospitality, Del you are a legend and didn't even look 30, let alone 50, hope it was a fitting kick-off to your birthday celebrations, happy birthday to Webby, and many congratulations to Jo & Olof, bless

Mr Pugh thank's for the coments it was a fantastic night although I have to go early on most night's because of various personal ,spiritual or legal ties .I was tempted to risk it and stop a while longer but with all the trouble John I can't risk anything untill after the court case next month. It's alway's tricky selling records and at a night like Rugby there were so many old face's and fantastic sounds comming from the main room it's hard to know what to do.You and Kenny looked like a pair of sas boy's recouperating after your latest mission .Sian and Dean thank you very much for the table your very kind great to see a lot of old face's from Hinckley (Ady and Colin) and the willinghams (see you next month at Prestatyn) and tthe Leicester/Nuneaton boy's.See you at the next one .Sy.By the way was the latin played in the alternative room modern latin or old school any playlists?

Great to meet you Loren, thumbsup.gif It does not get much better than Rugby, a few Nations were present all United, whoops not aloud to say the U word as they beat the City. The music was on another level in freestyle room with Mak, Carl & Maria and the tune of the night for me was Mitch Ryder's Devil with a Blue dress on, played loud underplayed

Thanks Sian keep sane and cheers Dale for the lift

I caught that moment for posterity Mak - here it is. I've syndicated the photo to 27 local Midlands papers already, and I've also got some interest from Baked Potato Weekly & Spud Fanciers Review.
