It was so much fun..."the smile on my face.." won`t go away till december I am sure ! Also special thanks to John Stapleton who sadly had to miss his second spot as he desperately wanted to go to the fleamarket the next day..tried to persuade him to stay awake (at the Hip City) till the market opens but he choosed a few hrs bed time. Well deserved I would say as he and you played blinder sets! It must have been ages I last heard Roosevelt Grier and how f****g awesome it did sound ! Special thanks for having had the nuts to play that !! Really made my night It was great to have all our special Berlin Hip City friends in as well as travellers from England, Switzerland, Dresden, Leipzig and Hamburg! Wow. The floor was busy the whole night from 11 pm onwards until around half past five when our fellow Soulies from Nitty Gritty R&B club arrived for some last dances after they had closed down their R&B night which was held a few blocks from the Oscar Wilde. At times I almost felt like being at one of our anniversary nights...still remember Franz coming to me at the decks around half past 11 saying "WTF...it ain`t yet midnight and the place is rampacked and the floor busy ??!!!" 140 SOUL people made up for a great Hip City farewell to 2010 !
