Whilst we essentially thrive on pleasing 60s and 70s soul, something tells me that the next Boomerang may be seasoned with extra flavours of tingly crossover sounds... and yes, sometimes these things can take years to come together:

It took a couple of trips north over the border, lots of begging and then over a year of waiting to fit in with his work schedule - but we are very pleased to finally welcome ANDY WHITMORE back to the Boomerang stage (and a venue even more familiar to him). Andy will be joined by DAVE RIPOLLES who's also always delighted and excited with his sounds - and ARTHUR FENN our regular guest dj, because he's yet to disappoint even though we two girls judge him hardest . As usual, I'll also muscle in and play some of my records too.

Not heard Andy Whitmore DJ for a few years since he moved to Scotland but I can assure you that you won't be disappointed with what he plays and with Dave, Arthur and Maria this is a night not to be missed.

it will indeed be great to have Andy back again, he played a great couple of sets the last time he took to the Boomerang decks

and I am getting quite giddy thinking about the whole night. hope you have both seen

the photo I took of you outside on the photo gallery Maria has uploaded, enjoying a quiet moment in the sun

at the August do.

Of course for anyone coming for a first visit, and I know a few who are, all our previous guests playlists

including those from Andy and Dave Ripolles are available to peruse on the Boomerang website,

together with resident DJ Maria O's to get a flavour of what we do.

Yes, Martin and I will be there for the traditional get together in the Canal Tavern restaurant, alhough in my case I will be strictly teetotal for this trip. Got back from Soul In The Sun last night, bringing a cold back with me, feeling really tired. Looking forward to seeing you all at Boomerang.

One week I ended up with 2 kebabs and a proposal of marriage to the Turkish kebab shop owner in the square all because Malayka wanted a bag of chips on the way home.

Always thinking I should take the night more seriously but that's the DJs job

I'm there for a pleasant night out with mates who just happen to play/sell/trade in the quality end of the music we love.

I don't think you are alone in that opinions Chalky, some claim the crown others like Thorne just get on with providing top quality music and pretty damn decent people, and yes I often end up with memory loss after, which is normally Pete B's fault.

Can't make this again, life just getting in the way of living at the moment, think last time I went out England had a decent football team so you know how long ago that was!

Great DJ's, can't believe I have never heard either of the Ripolle Bros, despite their reputation being pretty damned hot at the moment, have heard Mr Whitmore many many times, me being the man that made him, what can you say about my adopted countryman, well one thing you can say is he talks a good game, always talking about how good at golf he is, even though he cheats, always about his dress sense, even though we know its Mrs W that makes sure his sartorial crispness is intact, always talks about how safe trains are thanks to him, despite the fact everyone I am on is delayed due to somebody throwing themselves in front of a train, probably some poor deluded English footie fan, but one thing he rarely talks up is the records he plays, only because he doesn't need to, they do all the talking thats needed with their quality, really pleased the girls have been able to persuade him to get behind the decks again, man who knows what crossover records are right for the dancefloor, and probably the king of the genre, introducing it to many of us, proper Northern DJ!

So, its a rare treat for you lot, seeingMr W in action, dont miss it, the way he is loving his new Scottish highland home, it may be some time before we let him back down South again.....
