Guest mrallsorts Posted September 22, 2005 Share Posted September 22, 2005 After the huge success of our annual outdoor do in july we've decided to have a free(donations gratefully recieved!) end of season bash on sat 24th sept in the grounds of kennedys club,tower sports ground , Irthlingborough rd(A6), finedon ,northants NN9 5EJ . kick off is at 5.pm right through till we drop! Confirmed Dj's for the do are Mr Jackie ''allsorts''(daddyvinyl soundsystem), Johnny vegas(hot funky and sweaty),Craig'funky plummer' Smith(crowbar records)Pete 'funk' mayes(sounds of the streets),Glyn Etherington, Tony 'Tank'Horn(soulin') Bringing the usual unique, uplifting, blend of deepfunk, jazzfunk, latinfunk, afrofunk, funky breaks, funky reggae, funky soul, funky disco, and whatever ever else has that unmistakable, indefinable groove!All played over daddyvinyls 6k soundsystem! Theres free camping so bring a tent! Food will be available with full (fat n funky!)english breakfasts being served on sunday morn! Please spread the good word! ''we got the funk!'' Guest mrallsorts Posted September 24, 2005 Share Posted September 24, 2005 Sadly, due to some arsehole's letter of complaint the local constabulary has forced the cancellation of this weekend's Full Fat and Funky at Kennedys. ''Yes this is bad news all round. Julie at the club is absolutely gutted and tried every avenue to get the police to agree to let it go ahead, but they really dont want it to, because the letter convinced them its a friggin rave!! They even said they would block the entrance to the club car park and gate with police cars to prevent anybody getting in. And if it did go ahead, they would arrest anyone they could for any breach of stupid regulations - ie proper badged security, health and safety things, noise regulations etc.. If only they went to the melchbourne 'do' and realised that it is one of the friendliest, safest parties around! Keep your ears open for future events......We have fought the face of adversity before.... and won! Link to comment

Are there other nights that have been ruined then? :angry: Who ever it is is one evil b*stard! They're hurting alot of people....At least 150 people were really looking forward to tonite! Thanks for the text Jack the word is spread such a shame this stuff goes on, There have been a few of the nighter and soul night promtors on here had letters sent to there venues and being forced to cancel, Chin up mate look forward to Melchborn next year Link to comment
