hi Lads,

I had a look at it with brian and Mark and it was a very nice upstairs bar with some comfy sofas and fully functioning toilets

I really hope it takes off as it looks a lot more comfortable than Three Blind Mice.

It will also be great to eventually hear Paul McKay play his records at last

For The Real Soul People

Hear Soul /Think Soul /Dance Soul /Sleep Soul /Talk Soul........................

@ The HORSE & GROOM PUB CURTAIN RD LONDON EC2

(Venue is a genuine 5 min walk from Liverpool st tube)

Just a week to go....and soon to a restart one of Londons finest regular

Soul nights..

Majestic Soul went about sourcing a venue with a traditional, bespoke,

homely feel suitable for the music. In particular this venue is attractive

not only for its period features but it has a great history being in this

part of London, and is celebrated for its involvement for both sound & stage

acts since the early 19th century...

Well.... they say a little hard work goes a long way..we hope you agree..:D

Plus of course it`s a "Flood Free" venue (well at least flood free from upstairs dishwashers  ) and it possesses toilets which can be accessed without requiring wellington boots or a boat !!

The venue has a nice atmospheric/almost dated feel which us Soulies seem to like.

Hopefully we will see a few new faces (and a few "old" ones) to add to our regular "Majestic throng

I`m looking forward to kicking things off at the new venue with the first spot of the evening. The emphasis to begin with will be to keep it mellow with a selection of Sweet, Deep and Southern Soul Grooves mixed in with some Beat Ballads and Mid-tempo Floaters.

Expect to hear tracks from Ann Peebles, Jimmy Dotson,The Mob, Mckinley Sandifer,Gloria Lynne, Rhythm Rebellion and The Moments among others.

For my second spot of the evening the emphasis will change to dancers and mid-tempo grooves.....a taster of which to come over the next few days

Looking forward to hearing the Kim Tamango played out, as it`s been overshadowed for too long by the popular Funk track on the flipside ( i can still remember picking this up sometime in the 90`s at the record shop in Guildford that Ian Clark managed. Anybody else here remember the shop ?)

Allo Mark H

Im sure Charlie has mentioned this shop several times but unfortunately he doesnt do computers so we never get to view his response on the Forums....One of the Disco Drug stores i suspect!!... and knowing charlie im sure he was always the last one to leave after a cocktail of Super Stength Lager, peanuts and Corrie Blake "How can i go on" (Capital)!...nothing the average Soul Boy cant handle!!!....

I think the first record i ever bought was a De La Soul 12" and was not allowed out further than the local boots store....Gorr how life has changed...what can i say???did i miss much???haha!!

Innocence is blissfull........

Dear Julie....

Dont you worry bout......"The chin strokers".......they are usually harmless, actually quite shy..& hardly ever dance....

So neither you nor me fit into this category...haha..!!...phew....!!!.... thank goodness...!!!....:hatsoff2:

However its is likely that with a little gentle persuasion we could turn um into REAL SOUL MONSTERS.....!!!!!!

Dancing_Tony1.jpg

MMmmmm.....They also secretly love a good Disco record.....I BET YA...!!!!.....yes.gif

The other thing I like about Majestic is that there's no dress code

This fits in nicely with London fashion week which is on in London this week, think Binsy will mix in very well looking like that laugh.gif:unsure::hatsoff2: .

Hopefully if all goes well should be getting along to test/sample the ales on offer, would be rude not to beer.gif:D .
