On an EMI disc why or how did EMI disc's get into the public domain? What was the purpose of such disc's ?? westrex Posted July 7, 2011 Share Posted July 7, 2011 emidiscs were made of aluminium and coated with an acetate laquer they were basically used in mastering studios to make a STAMPER for the vinyl copies, rather like using a picture negative in photography I have a record cutting machine, it's a complicated process.
