Ian Dewhirst
Looking forward to this. I've just spent the best part of 6 hours pulling out records, some of which I haven't EVER played out, mainly 'cos I was too young to get into clubs between 1966-69. But I was listening like a hawk to radio and that's where I heard some of the stuff which eventually got me into Northern Soul. Plus I don't usually have a Mod, RnB or Motown remit so consequently I never get to play some of my favourite records. So I've pulled out a TON of stuff that I want to play, so the night will definitely be entertaining LOL... https://www.southendfilmfestival.com/festival_music.html Also, the last time I played Southend (last year), I had a great night and a thoroughly cracking time (thanks Kev & Co). So if anyone's in the vicinity of Southend tomorrow come down to the Kursaal 'cos I think it'll be fun. There should be a few people around 'cos it's following showings of "Quadrophenia" and "Soulboy" plus Southend will be full of scooter boys, so I'm looking forward to laying down some serious sounds and telling 'em like it was! A perfect way to close a historic weekend. Looks sunny too........ Ian D Link to comment
