Guest REVILOT
A crackin night it was indeed. Yeh numbers down a bit, no doubt due to the footy, if you can call it that. I could see from behind the decks that the majority of the crowd were "real" Soul fans so it was good to play some lesser known sounds, along with some of the classics,to people who really do appreciate Soul. My playlist for the night included (from memory) and in some kind of order lol :- OLYMPICS – GIRL,YOU'RE MY KIND OF PEOPLE – WB SUE ANN JONES – I'LL GIVE YOU MY LOVE – TCB LEE WILLIAMS – IT'S EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU - CARNIVAL GINO WASHINGTON – NOW YOU'RE LONELY – W.I.G. SONNY ALLEN– YOUR LOVE WAS SO WONDERFUL – HIT PACK ARABIANS –PLEASE TAKE A CHANCE ON ME – LE MANS NAT T JONES– MOVING FORWARD – GOLIATH JOHNNY DIXON – WHERE ARE YOU – BOSS FALCONS –GOOD GOOD FEELING – BIG WHEEL 2X2 - OUTSIDETHE CITY – NEW WORLD FABULOUS APOLLOS - THE ONE ALONE – VALTONE MARV JOHNSON – COME ON AND STOP – UA RAY LEWIS –SORRY YOU GOT THE WRONG NUMBER- SMASH BOBBY PATTERSON – TILL YOU GIVE IN – JET STAR FIESTAS –THINK SMART – OLD TOWN SAM FLETCHER – I'D THINK IT OVER – TOLLIE TOKAYS –BABY BABY BABY – BRUTE JACKEY BEAVERS- LOVE THAT NEVER GROWS OLD - REVILOT DOTTIE& MILLIE – TALKIN ABOUT MY BABY – TOPPER LEE ROGERS –HOW ARE YOU FIXED FOR LOVE HARVEY – ANY WAY YOU WANNA – TRI-PHI LIZ LANDS –MIDNIGHT JOHNNY – GORDY Plus a pile of classic oldies / requests including :– VALENTINOS –SWEETER THAN THE DAY BEFORE – CHESS LINDA JONES– MY HEART NEEDS A BREAK – LOMA ROY HAMILTON – CRACKIN UP OVER YOU – RCA GENE CHANDLER – I CAN TAKE CARE OF MYSELF -CONSTELLATION GLADYSKNIGHT – NO ONE COULD LOVE YOU MORE THAN ME – TAMLA MOTOWN VEL-VETS –I GOT TO FIND ME SOMEBODY – 20TH CENTURY MAURICE WILLIAMS – BEING WITHOUT YOU – DEESU CAJUN HEART– GOT TO FIND A WAY – WARNER BROS And one forthe "older" folks LORENZO MANLEY – SWOOP DOWN ON YOU – ORIGINAL SOUND Really enjoyed the night, including spots from Mick, Kev, Wigan Paul and even that quiet Geordie Geezer Mr Byrne LOL.
