Had another good night at the Civic.

Great set from Joan. Hope she will return soon

Lots of dancing and mischief :wicked:

Only downside was the low turnout. Think it maybe a case of use or lose it with the new people in charge. :excl:

And just as Ste was starting to calm down a bit....

:D

Fantastic night Friday, could have done with a few more in, although there were one or two new faces i suspect they came to support Joan.

Thoroughly agree with all above, really enjoyed Joan's spot, something for everyone. Well done Joan you exceeded my expectations

Was'nt sure about the Gestapo looking bloke on the door with the orange arm band on, till Phil pointed out he had just come from the baths and forgot to take them off Ha Ha Ha

Look forward to Sandra's 50th in September

Think the attendance thing mainly is down to the time of year,i.e.,people on hols, plus to many weekenders, plus the economic climate,i know personally i have to pick & chose which events i attend, especially living on disability benefit

Totally agree with our san, Joans set was awesome! Maria, class as always, and Steve, your set was wonderful.Huge thanks to Maria, Dereck and H, for the cd's........ H, that's the best cd you will EVER do me---wow!

Yes i saw the new management clocking how many people were coming in, apparently they're going to monitor it with a view to closing if the numbers aren't sufficient.

Iv'e been coming to Heywood since 1996, and you can count the times i've missed on 1 hand. It's a fantastic venue, and (for me) always a wonderful atmosphere, (i love the place). Since our Sheila went back to New Zealand i've been agonising over whether to stay or go --- if Heywood Civic shuts that will tip the balance firmly on the side of N.Z. No doubt our San will respond to this with 1 of her "little jokes", such as, "let's all boycott the Civic then". But joking aside, if more people don't make the effort to attend then the writing's on the wall,

Sandra's right, use it or lose it

Donna
