You Just Don't Know (what You Do To Me)

How totally beautiful is that scan? Absolutely no USA release for this promo - not even a national promo either. West Coast ONLY this is, always has been and always will be a legendary Northern Soul Classic Demo collectors Grail. An East Coast test press does exist -“one known copy” but has just a plain white label - this scan depicts the ONLY format known as a USA promo with a label - luckily UK Pye issued it on Cameo Parkway in 1965 - otherwise this tsunami of a tune, may never have become the Northern Soul monster classic it is.

Demures

Raining Teardrops

This is a flawless example of a long establish real-toughie to find! A classic Cleethorpes Pier monster that sat next to Liz Christian - Suddenly You Find Love - in my DJ set back in 1975. Today Liz is currently faded out of vogue, whilst this 45 has just powered forward gaining in reputation and value as the years pass by, because this Washington, D.C.“SHRINE” style, Clay Roberts production carrying everything for today’s scene. Very few DJs actually own a copy of this 45, perhaps that’s why it’s long-overdue revival has been delayed somewhat. This is top-drawer Girl-Group Northern Soul directed by the great Freddie Perrin.

Temptations

Get Ready C/w Fading Away

On first release this perhaps the Temptations best known 60s recording in 1966 making TMG 557 a pretty tricky one to secure, especially in this fine,. clean condition. Both sides are classic Motown served by one of the most-gifted black groups of the last century, who hit the UK charts at #10 3 years later when this song was re-issued like so many were, to meet the demand those Soul All-nite clubs had created by playing the rare and unobtainable.

Buddy Ace

Color My Love

The growling blues R&B man softens a little on this - his most-wanted and rarest 70s 45 - a slick 70s production with the cultured vocal of Buddy adding that rather special depth very few other artists could have achieved. Take a listen, we think you’ll adore the blend of an aged in Texas tortured vocal style woven into a fabulous 70s dance production - good stuff this is!

Ain't Gonna Cry No More

The underground appreciation for this record is immense - no doubt the final price will confirm that statement - but do click the sound file and see exactly why this annoyingly elusive 45 has such a long-standing buzz about it.

Keep On Striving C/w Come On Let Me Love You

Soul Essence, Filthy Soul or The Orwell are the watering holes for to hear records of this quality! Moses is so much more than just a guy who spotted a girl the other side of the street - on this 45 too he excels with his almost effortless style complimented by a finely tuned production.
