I've still loads of tracks and a few more DJ's to cover yet, George Sharp. Jimmy Wensiora, Chris Plant, Butch, more Keb, Guy and Dave Thorley as well. Agreed. I believe more quality records were introduced to the scene after Wigan shut. (....pause for bricks been thrown....) Somewhere in the garage there are a couple of Live at the TOTW tapes. See if I can dig them out. I am very interested in seeing/hearing George's sets. I always liked Mr Sharp and think he is often forgotten. and under recognised. Him and Mr Pearson used to promote some very innovative nights in Bradford in the early 80s. Very educational/inspirational and sparked my passage from routine club classic sounds to rare/newies. Keep up the good work 1 Link to comment Social source share

Popular Post Pete S
Chalky, seriously you ought to be inducted into the NS Hall of Fame for the work you've done here, I don't like all of the music, but so what, to produce a historical record like this and then back it up with the tunes as well, it's just an amazing piece of work and an absolute education. One of these days I'll download the lot. I really appreciate the work you've done here and hopefully everyone else will agree that this is one of the best things ever to appear on Soul Source. Take a bow Son 5 Link to comment Social source share
Chalky
Thank you so much for the kind words Pete, means a lot. I wouldn't expect anyone to like all the records, even I don't like all the records but it is about a bit more than that, or I would like to think it is. Stafford like any other venue had its share of turkeys but they have to be included for accuracy. Again thanks. P.S. Somehow I don't think you will like the last one or the next Edited December 24, 2013 by chalky Link to comment Social source share

Autumnstoned
Agree with Pete. Until I downloaded these podcasts I'd never heard Ree Flores, Eric Mercury, Jesse Henderson … the list goes on. So cheers Chalky and seasons greetings to you. Best Mike 1 Link to comment Social source share
