I Really Love You

Nothing we can say will elevate this 45's enviable reputation - it already proudly perches itself at the very summit of Northern Soul collecting.

But do pause to consider that this copy had never ever met an Englishman before - vinyl has only a couple of light sleeve contact brushes, but has certainly never ever encountered the rigors of an English club-turntable. A better copy we think may not exist - certainly a "virgin" to these Isles untouched by DJ hands. If perfection, provenance and top-drawer Northern Soul is important to you, whilst trying to own the top-flight "Trophies" this 45 offers it all. It's been a thrill for me to even hold it...

Something On My Mind

A wonderful classy hammond driven uplifting dancer, swirling sister-vocal rides the relentless and imaginative arrangement. A saxophone break adds extra quality and the recording gives up relentless rare-soul-dance. This is outrageously good - little wonder it has become so in-demand in recent times...

Ray J. & Norma Jean

This Is Our Song Of Love

This Is Our Song Of Love

Raymond Jones teams up with Norma Jean creating a compelling mid-pace New Orleans crossover groove. A supremely constructed duet,as the two Crescent City Soulsters exchanging lover's pleasantries over a vibe n' brass arrangement. Extremely hard to acquire before "Katrina" - now it's proving an impossible quarry ! The soulful qualities and it's place of birth, suggests this Killer Crossover can only rise in value. Get a listen you'll love it!

Chubby Checker

The Wah-watusi

Quadrophenia lifted the Orlons classic Philly dance 45 into MOD immortality! The dance-hall scene from this iconic movie sealed the "The Orlons" as Scooter-Boy anthem. So, how about this 45 that NEVER achieved USArelease as a 45. Fabulous version from the "Discotheque" man who gives the song another dimension. 1961 Italian rarity still retains original company sleeve...may we suggest the over-worked Orlons classic would be perfectly replaced by an inspired DJ with this refreshingly different take on the classic. Remember there is no USA 45 of this offering...and this Italian creation is Dog-Rare and flawless.

Moses Dillard & The Dynamic Showmen

Pretty As A Picture C/w Go Away Baby

Former Wigan Casino secret monster for that man Richard Searling. This example stood apart as one of the "Most-Soulful" giants of that period. Moses is recognized as covering all styles of soul with a slick-ease and torrid emotion. To fuse it to a 60s dance production makes this 45 special.

Check out all his work on Curtom, Mala, Shout etc. This is one of two releases on this independent Mark V the other is the equally seductive "Pretty As A Picture" our data tells us this is the rarest of the two and in fact Moses Dillard's rarest 45 period by a ratio of 4 to 1.

George Smith

Pretty Little Girl

Superior and original version of the highly rated Gene Chandler 45, with Phil Spector's influence ensuring this is the only one to own! George Smith's composition enjoys an echoing girl-group injection woven in-between the cavernous vocal of Mr. Smith and laid gently onto a precise mid-paced arrangement... creating a huge dancefloor stroller.

Nothing but rarity has stood in the way of this 45 becoming a Northern Soul monster - time to shelve your Kurt Harris's, Timi Yuro's etc and breath some new life into your DJ set - we know for sure not many can boast owning this sensational example of the "Big City Sound" - note; the flip gives up a vocal-group example of the genre.

This sublime RED & WHITE DEMO showcases this Watts-Gal as the supreme vocalist she certainly was - today she is considered the "Northern Soul Darling" of the label with her impressive catalog of recordings. Before you is this ultimate for this time - a flawless TMG556 RED& WHITE DEMO!

Ben E. King

Ben E. King - 4 Track Mono Ep

Collecting British Soul EPs has always been difficult - unlike some of the "pop" EPs released on these shores; the "Soul" counterparts sold very little by comparison. This 1963 London Atlantic release is particularly difficult to find especially in this neat, clean condition. 4 Tracks are: 1. How Can I Forget 2. Gloria Gloria 3. Tell Daddy 4. Auf Wiedersehn My Dear . This front cover just screams "Cover Art" as the beaming bright face of Mr. King projects exactly what the music is all about. Even though he'd just hit pay-dirt and fame with "Stand By me" this EP sold virtually nothing upon release - and it looks totally gorgeous...doesn't it?

Sittin' On The Dock Of The Bay

The experienced album collector, knows as he gently tugs with a raised-pulse of anticipation at an album, to relieve it from its poly-lined original sleeve and it tucks back! You know condition is gonna be special; as if with a loving-attraction the two hold together, and plead "don't play me and spoil my perfection"

This 1968 release, a little over a month after his tragic death December 1967 is near perfect - vinyl has just one tiny, tiny light surface blemish, cover is totally free of writing, stains or flaws - just a couple of light "laminate veins".

A tribute to an artist who establish "SOUL" on an international scale. If there's a finer copy in existence - I've never seen it.

Can This Be Real

I've made no secret that the soul-harmony-vocal group is my preferred choice of rare soul. This 45 offers it at the very highest level of skill. Tom Washington's intricate arrangement involving differing string delivery, drum rolls, guitar, brass all go to enhance what is a glorious example of tight vocal harmony. By comparison this 45 rubs shoulders with the very finest 70s rare-soul recordings that managed to avoid those 70s "Disco cliches" - now all copies long-been buried in collections, we feel this will emerge and flex it's muscles and growing reputation...pure quality always does.

Let Me Be Your Boy

1962 UK MGM DEMO, of this Detroit flip-side that has enjoyed strong collectible status on 1st. USA Correc-Tone 2nd. USA CUB 3rd. USA Verve. All valued to varying degrees, but to own it as the UK DEMO snuggled in it's original release sleeve in mighty fine condition with the only slight flaw of the date on the centerpiece scored out is the zenith of it's formats.

Whether you collect Northern Soul, collect rare Brit-release Soul or just appreciate the sheer-exclusivity of this listing...that beautiful "label-vista" will be very hard to resist.

Try A Litte Harder C/w You Never Do Right (my Baby)

We would like to think bidders enter this arena with the intention of acquiring near perfect vinyl to adorn their collections. So let us reiterate CONDITION,CONDITION, CONDITION!! we have over the years frequently had and sold this title - but most have had water stained labels, marked vinyl, storage warp or other annoying flaws. To find this in "like new" condition it's extremely hard indeed, this offering is just immaculate in ever respect! Act accordingly.
