That's a good   from me too! Thanks for your kind (and slightly mad) words Mel!

I don't think Ted will be feeling any pressure like I did, knowing I was the warm up YTS guest the week before he goes on there!

As for the so called "rankings" that Nick seems to have created for Northants :D....Yeah right!...I'm happier to be off-radar to be honest!

Thanks also for looking after us on the show...food & drink & trying to keep the chat room in some sort of order! Great.

Cheers to all who listened and fed back about certain records and things at the time in the chat room, as the growing number of regulars do each week of course. Also a couple of new converts too I noted.

Look forward to listening in to Ted & his selection next week, although not sure my Missus will be as happy when I tell her that Valentines night is on Weds 15th Feb this year rather than Tues 14th :D

Cheers, Steve

Thanks again for your kind words of feedback Garv. No podcast facility on BIR as yet, but it's coming I believe. In the meantime I think it's repeated today at midday.

So for anyone who's at a loose end and near a PC this lunchtime from 12 'till 3, feel free to log in and listen: www.banburyinternetradio.com and click on your preferred listening method (WMP / Real Player etc).

As a heads up of what I played after Nick opened the show with a few:

The first 45 mins or so was focussed on what I think are some great affordable 45's....Recent(ish) releases from The Teenagers (levels were all out for this first one, but then sorted!), DeRobert & the Half-Truths, JC Brooks & The Uptown Sound, Patrick Henry....Some great previously unreleased 45's on Kent Select / Hayley / Soul Junction from likes of Spencer Wiggins, Willie Bollinger, Sy Hightower, Natural Impulse....and some great original 70's from Phyllis Hyman, Patti York (Thanks again Steve Plumb for that one!).

The second hour was focussed on what I think are some great double-siders, playing both sides of original 45's by artists such as Bottom & Company, Margie Joseph, The Innersection, JP Robinson, The Dynells, The Prophets...+ fave sides from The Lovettes, The Lovations, Lillian Dupree, Towana & The Total Destruction, The Enchanted Five.

Third hour was just a few more of my current fave 60's / 70's original 45's from artists such as Jackson Sisters, The Enchanted Five, The Chaumonts, Choice of Colour, Clay Brown, Nick Allen, Mixed Feelings, Viola Wills, Lorraine Rudolph, Sandra Phillips, Jo Ann Garrett, The Puzzles, The Enticers, Jesse James, James Walsh Gypsy Band, Fir-ya, Bobby Thurston & The Dells.

Thanks again to Nick for having me on, to Mel for food, drink, banter & chat room stuff, to Banbury Soul Club for making me feel even more nervous in the studio :D and for all those who listened and gave banter + shared knowledge of records etc in the chat room at the time.

Ted Massey is special guest this coming Tuesday night, and I'll certainly be listening from 8pm as usual.

Cheers, Steve

Ok........where do I begin??? At the beginning....... what a fantastic Tuesday night. For once I am struggling with what to write as I don't want to sound grovelling and obsequeous.

I think keeping it simple is the way to go:

Sublime, superb, joyful, awesome (in the proper sense of the word), humbling, emotional. I think maybe if everyone adds their own word then I can print it out, frame it and send a copy to Ted.... A little offering from us mere mortals :)

I wish I had the ability to paste up all the wonderful comments from the chat room last night, words from the green room and those received on the phone last night& texts and PM's received on here; I was so lucky to be a part of it.

Thank you Ted and Thank you Lou for making the trip down to Banbury last night. The pleasure was ALL ours XXXX

(Ok now pass the bucket :wicked: ) Melly xxx

Really enjoyed the show , I too missed a couple of hours at the start because I got myself absorbed involved into a KTF reunited facebook thread , found myself acting as an archivist ( if thats the right word) posting old pictures up most of the night , anyway when I realised Ted was on the show I tuned in and I was not dissapointed , he played a superb couple of hours of music to my ears.

Pat Lewis.........what a wonderful woman. She was charming, funny & gorgeous..think everyone just fell in love with her tonight.

Time flew bye and we still had time for Eddie Hubbard in the chair, Nick to eat the remainder of the buffet and silly, giggly fun in the chat room.

Sublime soultime XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Thanks to everyone who made the effort to come down to meet Pat - especially Pat & Finney from Towcester, Rich Mason from Oxford , Banbury Soul Club, Tabs, Eddie Hubbard & everyone who tuned in tonight. Hope you enjoyed the show and hearing Pat sing live - OOH BOY!!! Just perfect.
