The Midniters - Alternative Versions Of Top Tunes

Stumbled on this on youtube.

Group called 'Thee Midnighters' from the 60's........versions of Timi Yuro and Stoppers.

Timi Yuro......

Stoppers........

Seems some coincidence that a group way back then happened to have covered two tunes that became massive Northern Sounds years later or am I thinking too much into it?

...and given that their recording of 'It'll Never Be Over for Me' predates Timi Yuro's I hardly think you can call it a cover. It's closer in arrangement to Baby Washington's version, but it's hardly a 'cover' of that, as it was released two year later.

Thee Midniters revived a lot of songs, from 'It's Not Unusual' to mcKinley Mitchell's 'The Town I Live In' but none of them were covers...

Great group, with a fantastic lead singer in Little Willie Garcia...
