Got to be one of my favourite groups, 5 Stepping Stars, then becoming Family Circle, not sure but think they may have become Ujima or Silk or both, this is just about my favourite by them, album only, big thanks to Micky Gynn for putting me on to this, I ain't got the album, but I am sure as hell looking for it

Great posts Dave, here is an incredible record, posted in honour of Bob

Devastations-What makes me feel this way-Gimp

Kev

Well done kev! I have that great florida record in my collection, but more to the point  I could not think of a better record to honour bob, who sadly will never know the influence he had on group harmony and sweet soul collectors over here and around the world. Three of my favorites from the west coast are-

Junction 'lets try it again' fos glo

Sky's the limit 'look at me now ' artco

sivilles 'fallin in like' infinity+

One thing I would say is, I am not a rare logo snob.  So another good tip for all getting into this gear would be Galaxy 'Left singing a sad song' Arista or Creators 'blame it on me' rca

Sorry I am not able to upload. But if anyone would like them in a cd disc swap let me know.

The Creators is a tough one to find being on the RCA issue side of "just you and me"(Not on demo). Was put onto this by Andy Etheridge after he bought a copy at Rock City back in the 80s took a few years before one came my way.

Don't think it contravenes any rules by this site ,but if anyone is interested ,as im sure you would be ..there is and has been a group set up and dedicated to " sweet soul" on facebook for a while now and with over 400 members .

Most of the sweet soul guys from California making contributions on a regular basis ,so for me it's a must and an invaluable source for finding new tunes !

Mind you ,being a bricklayer and used to using a trowel and level ,means it makes being a member on here and facebook a lot easier to navigate and easy to manage both sites on a daily basis

there's a world outside your window

Or even better Nev, go on their Youtube channels, some stirring stuff, all be it, a lot of it is very hard to locate, I don't use Facebook and never will, so I find this alternative very rewarding and have spent hours on these channels, and to be honest, to obtain whats on my wants now I would have to sell my house to pay for them

In light of the recent passing away of Winfred Lovett and Sonny Bivens of the marvellous Manhattans I think this would be fitting in way of a tribute. With the late and great George "Smitty Smith at the front, these guys were truly a "Super" Group

Thanks alot for the all the comments! As far as the Linda Jones is concerned, absolutely agree.....not a sweet soul sound per se, just an incredible vocal performance from an incredible vocalist. Whilst I label these particular shows 'sweet soul', I think as long as the tracks are slow and low and hit the mark, then that's good enough to qualify.

Cheers to everyone for checking out this mix!
