The only tune I can live with from these is 'Shades Of Jade' for the intro, as for the others each to their own, but "it's Only A Paper Moon' cost me a ton in the mid-eighties and I still don't know why I bought the thing - c'est la vie!

Like you Greg I'm guilty of buying "Papermoon" as well, it ws still covered up I think when I got it.

The Jesse S, to my ears, is just about perfect for the more progressive venues and certainly a 45 favoured in Europe - great tune..

I've ben playing the Jesse Slaughter out for a while now when I get the chance.

not one of his best bob...prefer broths gonna work it out now that is awesome imo

"get ready..." is one of his best cuts. However, brother's gonna work it out is his #1 best cut. Everyone in Chicago knows that song and they don't play it on the radio. I love this one from the foxy brown soundtrack but it never got a 45 release:

Hi Bob,

Now I really could be totally wrong with this as I don't think I have it anymore. I was doing radio at the time of release and I'm sure I was sent a 45 promo of this. Whether it got a full release I dont know but if I remeber the blurb that came with they said they were releasing a couple of 45's to go along with the film because of it's "Blaxploitation " conortations and its influence on the black music scene at a time when it had seemingly fallen by the wayside... if that makes sense.

Best

Steve

Thanks Steve. The title theme "theme from foxy brown" was released on 45 and promoed and even got some play. I would love to get this one on 45 if it exists. I don't think it does though. Maybe there is a foreign release, even that would be cool to get.

Really love this un, a goodie from 72. Most of the guys in the group had a good pedigree, so how could it be anything but great.

Pity they didn't play this at the Casino; much better than all that stomper rubbish they did play (& don't even get me started on all the pop shite).
