Sharon Cooper
Brilliant night at Pilsley on Saturday... The night started with young Joel playing a good set of oldies mixed with a few across the board sounds. The floor filled up for Barrys spot which proved to be eminently danceable! A great hour... Kev Smedley up next playing the sounds that make Rolls Royce such a successful night. Chris' set was (as the night is advertised) totally 'across the board' and the crowd obviously enjoyed it as they did for all the spots as the floor remained full for the rest of the night... Last spot went to Stu Bower who had stood in at the last minute due to one of the residents being ill and he did himself and all there proud..Some music that we've not heard in a long time .. This was 'proper northern' at its very best. (You know, when the words of the song start to come back to you eventually and not with that feeling of 'Oh no, not this AGAIN!!!!) Room was near capacity at about 140+ and majority still there after closing time at 1am Now into its 4th year and back to its roots... Well worth a visit. Link to comment
