We were talking classics right?

I bought this one back in 1971 before I really knew what "Northern" Soul was! It was just a great soul record that was played at the local youth clubs. Needless to say, it's still in my collection and will never be parted with!

Doris Troy - I'll do anything (Mojo release)

Something a bit different from me today.I'll follow Andy's post of Larry H & put up Richard Searling introducing it as Top Cats at The Casino. This was taken from a tape (which I've put to CD) marked up as Feb 1980 & has Richard playing Spyder Turner & The Webs-No Time for the first time, this of course was the cover up name for John & The Weirdest one the greatest double-siders ever imo.Pete Smith & I disagree with the date as he has a tape taken from the same night but his is marked up as late 79?Whatever the date it's great to hear a bit of Northern history.

Paul

The reason I'm adamant about the date is the tape was made by my mate from Hull who was a big buddy of Richard's & was on stage recording his set, that's why it's such good quality. So why would he write the wrong date on it?

Cheers
