I'll be popping along to this tomorrow, think my "non-soulie" flatmate is coming along too as "the telly's crap and the wine's cheap down there" (plus she loved the last one we went to  )

Any other Soul Sourcers up for a good healthy dose of the early stuff? whistling.gif

Yes! The Ferretts were there!!

Having read this thread, I am almost embarrassed to say that 'early' RnB type tunes are not usually my cup of tea (give me some Crossover or mid tempo Detroit group harmony anyday!!).

Having said that, we had a brilliant night and the tunes were mixed up enough for us to leave the venue sweaty after several hours of dancing. Even found myself liking a B.B. King track which is previously unheard of for me!!

The Edinburgh crowd made us feel really welcome and the music took me back to my Mod days in the mid 80's. Never did find anyone willing to discuss TV175 gear ratios though!!! :D The Spider's Web is a great cellar bar venue in Haymarket with more than a touch of the 100 Club about it

Thanks to everyone who we chatted with. Apologies for any garlic/beer fumes as we had been out for an Italian earlier

The Spider's Web is definately recommended to all Soul Sourcers!!

It made an excellent weekend in Edinburgh into a perfect one. unsure.gif

Thanks again chaps. Great CD by the way. Ferrett favourites so far are Spencer Wiggins, La Brenda Ben and The Elgins (All male group - presumably not the Motown Elgins???).

Ferretts (AKA Neil & Chimene)
