Hello Kev,

Thought you might be interested to know that Kinofilm the 10th Manchester international short film festival is taking it's Cinemobile, a 100 seater mobile cinema, on a grand tour of greater manchester, and will be in Wigan on Monday 13th Febuary for a special screening of Tony Palmer's documentary about the Wigan Casino, 'This England' made in 1971. Its completely free and includes screening of the best of the festival's short films. So we'd love to see a big turn out of people for this show, we wondered if you could help or if you could forward this email onto any of your Northern Soul collegues/mailing list etc, Contact me at kino.enquiries@good.co.uk for more info,

Cheers Kev, Thanks alot

Ben, Kinofilm Manchester

what does everyone think of the video all these years later?

ive got a tape from feb 76 with mike walker stating absolutely that there would be no TV cameras at wigan

why did they succumb a few years later?,was it a good idea,,did it look good?did it get more people into northern / less

where arethe people now?that girl in the laundrett?the two guys walking over the fields in the background..

classic TV or a classic own goal on the part of the casino management?

what about the choices of tunes ,,get him off my councience, out of my mind. what, rosemary what happened, turning my heartbeat up...

I heard somewhere it was a total concidence that it ended up on This England. The film crew were hanging about filming other stuff in Wigan and noticed all these kids turning up with bags etc.. followed them and the rest is history. thumbsup.gif
