Sharon Jones & The Dapkings

I have never seen Sharon Jones & the DK until last Wednesday & wanted to say how absolutely fantastic they were.

Alway's wanted to see them, just never got around to it.............anyway they play loads of funk which I find hard to get in to !!!!..........................wrong.

This show was probably one of the best live performances I have ever seen, this woman is f*****g dynamite & the Dapkings are marvellous as the back up, soooooooooooooo tight. I am still buzzing now & its Sunday.....................dont make the same mistake I made.................go see them now, you wont regret it.

I also have a confession to make too, blagged my way into hospitality by taking Keb's name in vain, told the manager I was a friend & to let Sharon know I was here, to my suprise was escorted up to the VIP room & spent a wonderful pre-show 20 mins or so chatting with her & the band..........what a talented & friendly person Sharon is..........................apologies to Keb tho' if you are reading this, not something I make a habit of .

Sharon Jones deserves to be an international superstar the Dapkings are fantastic...............anyone who who has not seen her, do not hesitate, ............................if you have the chance & dont, you should be ashamed, supporting this kinda music not only from the past, but from the present too, should be our priority...........................go & give her your support & buy the records aswell.

agree agree! Saw them at the Jazz Cafe last year, didn't know what to expect. Fantastic stage presence from her, wonderful performance and voice. The band, from the states were so young they thought they were too young to be in the club! Very competant musicians, all brought somethng special to the table. Guy Hennigan who was also there that night said we were in for a treat, and he was so rght...
