I'm aware the group is from Charlotte, NC and recorded/moved to Detroit at some point during their musical career. I don't have any proof but I'll bet my 33 years of experience on it. All the AS custom jobs have a similar layout and pressed through Kaybank. "Gary Rushbrooke says this is a Detriot record, it is in fact from N Carolina.Still a great record though" Maybe he knew something back then? Truth is, it's a complex / vague story for each of their four recordings, indeed anything about the Appreciations, and I don't have the full story myself, but a fair bit more than was known previously (took best part of a year to get hold of one of the band members). Suffice to say their story involves NC, SC, Detroit, Nashville and the sax player?
