Title: informers - if you love me - j - rude
Artist: informers
Track: if you love me
Label: j-rude

Record information:

the informers were one of many outstanding philadelphia soul groups that managed to cut a single or two in the 1960s that would have fit right in production-wise with much of what was on soul radio. they were capable of both the standard slow philly ballad soul and more motown-flavored fast numbers, showing a strong temptations influence. the group's career was interrupted for a couple of years when two of the members were drafted in mid-1967. upon re-forming when those two got out of the army in 1969, they changed their name to the fabulous performers, after being informed that another group were calling themselves the informers. this track is included in several compilations including lost chicano oldies volume one. 95135
