1965 Record information:

barbara & the browns a memphis family group started out as a gospel unit, the brown sisters, and comprised barbara, and her sisters roberta, betty and maurice. their fist 45 big party was released in 1964 on the wil-mo label then released by stax with you belong to her on the flip. stax released two more in my heart & i don't want trouble. after leaving stax barbara brown recorded several 45s for charles chalmers, who was earning a living as a sax man, arranger and producer in those days, several years before he became better known as the male voice in rhodes/chalmers/rhodes at the hi studio. i dont want to have to wait was released on cadet with some of the family. barbara brown then took centre stage & recorded with atco, tower & sounds of memphis. 2 unissued tracks from the cadet sessions “ to know i cant touch and im gonna start a war where issued as lp tracks much later. big party was also re-issued in 1972 on sounds of memphis 713.
