Just Arrived In The Post (Or Just Bought)

This one arrived yesterday (see below), interestingly I paid £38 (not usre if that was too much), but I bought with the money I got for 1970's yellow label Cantebury repro/boot which I sold on Ebay for £31. Amazing what people are paying for non originals when you can pick the original in some cases for the same or less!

Pete , don't know if you remember me saying ages ago that a bloke (Fair Ground top bloke) gave my old man a couple of boxes (at least 500 per box) of stuff which included at least 200 Reggae/ska stuff on all these obscure labels (well to me they were). I know for a fact there were a few of these and bearing in mind these were all stapled at the top of the covers and Mint. To this day I can't remember what I did with them Doh! but I think they may be in landfill around Louth ! Sorry :hatsoff2:

Swifty

Pookie Hudson & the Spaniels John Brown Parkway wlp. Love this mans voice, big city type arrangement dancer.

"Jolly boy" Shepard You Care Okeh wlp. Thanks to Denbo. Looks a little tardy, but plays lovely.

Jan Bradley We Girls Formal. Mayfield written Mid tempo gem, plenty of violins and chicago sound.

Billy Myles Honey Bee Ember. Up-beat Rnb Dancer, cheap as chips but soooo good.

Tony Lawrence I need somebody Webcor. Nice orchestrated early soul/popcorn mover.

Mickey & Sylvia Se de boom run dun Rainbow. Mambo baby, Quirky plodder ripe for the dancefloor.

Louis Jordan Cat Scratchin' Mercury. RnB Dancefloor mover, OH YES.

Dorian Burton Love Bank Pink Decca demo. Chugging powerhouse Dancer.

Neil Darrow with the Quarter notes She's a fine chick Wizz. New York city RnB mover of the highest order.

Ed Prince Brother-in-law Big Mac. Quality refined dancer with a great vocal. (When my wallet is able, i sit at my table)

Bobbe Caston Mommie Atlas wlp. Again, this is a beltin Rnb mover with a sax break that gave me a twinge. Phwoar.

Half a dozen purchases arrived this last couple of weeks which probably reflect the fairly eclectic nature of my collecting - I buy what I fancy. Piccies below.

- Lee Stone was a swap with an old mate for something which I put up for sale to raise cash for other purchases; he wanted the sale item, he knew I wanted this!

- Earl Connelly is just a great cheapie which I stumbled across for the first time last week

- Carl Henderson is an all-time favourite classic oldie and was for sale at a very decent price and in lovely nick

- The Silver Kings was a Greg Belson spin which sounded great out loud when he came over here last year and I picked it up for a song on Ebay

- The Masters was an Ebay bargain

- MIke Jemison is one I used to have in a collection long gone, is just a great record and inexpensive; I was prompted to get it again because of the Butch 1991 Yarmouth set posted on here recently

But the fella that got Jacqueline Jones for 10 bucks on a 'buy it now' got the best result IMHO. Nice - let me double your money, I will give you $20.
