Derek Pearson saying it for soul all eras all styles

Saturday 2nd February 2013 21.00-22.00pm.

Bradford Community Based Radio BCB 106.6FM

Part 2 week 2 so fasten your safety belts

I store all my 7 inch records at home in those cardboard photocopier paper boxes. With additional internal cardboard strengtheners added, at 10 inches long these boxes are ideal for picking up and moving about records about.

And I catalogue my sevens in label order.

For tonight’s show I picked up my A-B box which contains the tail end of my A label stuff and the start of everything beginning with B.

More by sheer luck than management on going through the box I realised virtually everything in there fell into ‘my top 500 soul singles’ section. Blimey was I spoilt for choice.

Can honestly say I really enjoyed everything I played tonight, it was like listening to an hour of my own favourites. Phew .

Once more we continue saying it for soul and carry on regardless by playing a weird and wonderful selection of them old soul 45s.

If you would like to hear the show live there’s 2 ways to go about it — if you live within say 10 miles of the BD1 based studio tune your radio to the 106.6 frequency on your FM dial and you should be able to get it.

Failing that go through the wonders of the World Wide Web on www.bcbradio.co.uk and hear it streamed live out of your PC.

You can also listen to some previous shows (up to 2 months maximum) by accessing the BCB home page www.bcbradio.co.uk then clicking on the Listen Again button (top left corner of the page). Scroll backwards on the calendar to find the relevant dates. Then click on the date and all the specialist shows between 8pm and 4am will be shown. On finding my name you have the choice to either listen to it or download it.

My regular schedule on BCB is 2 weeks on 2 weeks off. The 2 weeks broadcast were Saturday’s 26th January & 2nd February.

Consequently the next set of 2 shows will be aired Saturday’s 23rd February & 2nd March.

If interested here's a link to BCB Radio's Listen Again podcast which features last weeks show 26th January
