Probably the biggest funk DJ in the world, and you know he has all the soul you need too! Nothing much to say really, you know it'll be quality soul and funk all the way through and with a £2 entry, how can you afford not to miss it? Link to comment
Guest in town Mikey
This venue is pretty much an undiscovered gem. Its been sitting there waiting to be discovered, rather like a piece of vinyl in a New york warehouse. The dancefloor is good, it is reasonably big, and when I went to the night James Trouble DJ'd there were plenty of bar staff. all for £2. I reckon one shrewd promoter will get this venue for a friday or saturday, and have a top night on their hands. Link to comment
Guest Kolla
Is hot, funky and sweaty the name of the night ?!! Have to say Mikey - It was a few years ago now, but my experience of the Salmon and Compass was ridiculously heavy-handed bouncers / security. I mean the venue isn't exactly massive but they were so up their own that me and pals ( despite living pretty local) never went back there again. Is it under new management - are the door staff any nicer now ? Link to comment
Guest in town Mikey
Couldnt say about the management, but the door staff were fine. I went outside to take a phone call and the guy and girl on the door were both friendly and chatty. It aint massive, you're right, but I reckon its a cracking little venue. Link to comment
Guest James Trouble
The door seems very important for Kolla, but I'm only guessing because the only time I ever see her at clubs is when she is lurking around the entrance. Door fetish, or something more sinister? Link to comment
Guest Kolla
Just as well there's no dress code at the 100 Club, eh James ! Link to comment

Guest
i think this place is under new management from what mates in stokie told me. the night is called hot funky and sweaty (eddie bo track). I generally keep full listings for it on my homepage. from what I've heard its got a great scene going, lot of buzz about it from London types. i'm playing there on 28th - lots of great soul that bizzarely never gets played on the soul scene as well as funk. some good bands coming up - boogaloo investigators and gene drayton unit Link to comment
