They were designed for skint weeks or something for the car. Staggering that we can actually do 'em at that price to be honest. However, the titles just keep selling and selling and end up doing 3 times what a normal release will sell, so that's what makes the economics viable! Gotta thank the compilers who all do these albums at a similarly realistic price. It's pretty much win-win all round I think.....

Brilliant series Ian, I keep buying and can't believe you keep getting more out! I'll go and get my order in now. Good to see 'This Time Around' featured in there.

It's interesting 'cos I'm doing stuff at so many price points these days and this series is so cheap that we don't make much money on it, but they sell fantastically well and have a great audience, so it's always lovely to give people a genuine bargain. Personally I don't think you can beat this series for repertoire of this quality at this price. You can pay a bus fare, buy 10 cigs or a pint of lager which may last half an hour or you can buy a Backbeats album for a fiver and listen to it for the rest of your life. Do the maths......

These next 6 Backbeats releases have registered the highest interest ever, so hopefully we're still hitting the mark!

Did you send 'em? I probably missed 'em 'cos I'm always chasing deadlines. Can you scan 'em? Also, send me your address again and I'll whack this lot over as I think they'll appeal to your crowd!

Good stuff Peter! I honestly think this is the best value brand on the market. It's staggering to think youi can legally buy this quality of music for less than a fiver a pop......

But we have nos 6,7,8, 14 and 16 in Top 20 Soul Chart with less than a week to go, so we're in good shape! Hopefully you'll hear 'em on the radio over the next week or two as well.

Got a couple of these, Dance Floor Revolution and Crossover to Soul and they are both great and a real bargain!  However I do have a complaint - why was Are You Ready For This by The Brothers cut by about 40 seconds?  When you have been listening to the full length version for 40 years, it doesn't sound right!   How many other tracks have been tinkered with?   Only gets 4 stars rather than 5 because of this.

They arrived yesterday, and I managed to listen to a couple, but they've been a blessing this evening, as it's been a bad day and there's some fantastic music in there to help you cope with the emotions but also to take you out of yourself for a moment too.

It was a timing issue. In order to get this amount of tunes on the album we used the 7" mixes on several tracks. Also the longer mixes of some tracks are on other comps so we wanted to provide some alternative versions. So Norman Connors, Johnny Taylor, the Brothers, Bill Harris and the Trumains to name a few are the 7" mixes which are unavailable anywhere else to my knowledge. Bloody hell, I can't believe I lost a 5 star rating for providing a 7" single mix to a Soul Source contributor LOL. You should check out the Tom Moulton releases if you like long mixes!

Glad you enjoyed 'em though! Not bad for a fiver surely?

Well that's the beauty of great music mate! It's exactly the same for most of us. Music is virtually the only thing that can transform my mood instantly and get me to a better place quickly.

Glad they helped. Try Ralph's "Lay Back & Chill" if you wanna get really relaxed!

I'm yet again knocked out by Backbeats. I've listened to five of them so far and may not get to the others for some time as I keep replaying Dance Floor Revolution and Crossover to Soul. Top work by Ian on the series once more and a big hand to Ian and Sean for the aforementioned stunning compilations! :hatsoff2:

Can't wait for the next installment.

Cheers

Just got round to ordering mine - bought em all bar one.

The first person who can guess which one I didn't buy will get a prize!

Peter

LOL, I know the answer to that.

Surprisingly, that's actually the biggest seller out of all of 'em, as of today plus massive exports happening on that title too. Weird ay? Less prejudice abroad possibly? :g:

Either way, I still like it. I think it gathers together a lot of stuff that people missed or never even heard......

Yep, that is interesting. The only reason I didn't buy that one is that I have most of it on other stuff - nothing to do with Kev. I might be a bit prejudiced against "stompers" lol!

Anyway, it's a job well done and I shall enjoy them.
